The summer season is slowly starting in North India. The cold is over and now the sun is shining brightly during the day. Meanwhile, a rain alert has been issued for three days in eight states of the Northeast. The Meteorological Department has reported that sporadic to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in Arunachal Pradesh during February 13-15, while heavy rain may occur at some places in Arunachal Pradesh on February 13. Light rain is likely at some places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim during February 13-15.

During the last 24 hours, day temperatures have fallen by 1-3°C at many places over plains of northwest India and central India and by about 1-2°C at a few places over the state of West Bengal. Day temperatures have remained well above normal (3°C to 6°C) at many places over central and east India; above normal (1°C to 3°C) at isolated places over western Himalayan region and northern parts of peninsular India and at most places over northwest and north-east India. During the last 24 hours, night temperatures have fallen by 1-3°C at many places over plains of northwest India and central India while they have risen by about 1-2°C at a few places over east India.

Further, no significant change in minimum temperatures are likely over Western Himalayan region during next 3 days and it is likely to increase by 1-2°C during next 2 days. Minimum temperatures are likely to fall by 1-2°C over Northwest India during next 2 days and by 3-4°C over East India during next 2 days and increase by 2-3°C during next 3 days. Minimum temperatures are likely to fall by 1-3°C over Central India during next 24 hours and increase by 2-4°C during next 4 days. No significant change in minimum temperatures are likely over West India during next 3 days and it is likely to increase by 2-3°C during next 2 days.

Light rain is forecast for the next two days

According to weather experts, there may be light rain in the next two days, which may increase the cold further. This rain may further drop the night temperature, while the cold will persist throughout the day. Due to this change in weather, the people of the state may have to face cold once again.

There is a possibility of change in the weather from Tuesday. Light to moderate rain may occur in some areas of western Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, the weather is expected to remain dry and clear in eastern Uttar Pradesh. There may be rain in the districts of western UP on January 23, due to which the cold is likely to increase further.

Weather will change from January 22

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather of the state will remain clear for now. There will be light fog in the morning, and cold winds will blow at a speed of 20 to 30 km per hour. A major change in the weather can be seen from January 22.

The weather is expected to clear in many districts from today i.e. 20 January. In Prayagraj, Varanasi, Azamgarh, Jhansi and Mathura and other districts, after morning fog, the sun will shine throughout the day. The fog is expected to reduce in these areas after Monday. On Sunday, the people of the state got relief from dense fog. The sunshine in the morning increased the temperature more than normal. The Meteorological Department has predicted fog in the morning and sunshine during the day from 20 to 23 January.
