The Delhi High Court has agreed to hear the petition filed regarding the link of Aadhaar card with the property document. On this filed petition, the High Court has ordered the Housing Ministry and the Home Ministry. The court has asked the ministries to give their reply on this petition. The Delhi High Court has given the Central Government 4 weeks time to file its reply.

This petition has been filed by Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay for linking Aadhaar card with property document. In this petition, there has been a demand to link Aadhaar with movable and immovable property. It has been argued in this PIL that Aadhaar linking will help in dealing with corruption, benami transactions, black money.

Demand petition

BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay, who filed a petition regarding this matter in the court, requested the court to link the movable and immovable properties of the central government and the Delhi government with the public’s Aadhaar card.

In a conversation with PTI, Upadhyay had told that it is the responsibility of the state to curb corruption and benami property. Further, he said that taking such a step would send a strong message against corruption and help in curbing black money.
