Indian Railways has now implemented airline-like rules on the luggage carried by passengers during train journey. According to railway officials, the weight limit of luggage has been fixed separately for people travelling in different classes. According to the rules, if a passenger carries more than this limit, then he will have to pay an additional charge.

Railways has clarified that passengers in AC First Class can carry luggage up to 70 kg. In AC Second Class, this limit has been fixed at 50 kg. Similarly, passengers in Third AC and Sleeper Class can carry luggage up to 40 kg. For General Class passengers, the luggage limit has been kept at a minimum of 35 kg.

If a passenger carries more luggage than this, he will have to pay an additional charge. This charge will be levied as per the Railway rules. Officials say that the purpose of this rule is to prevent unnecessary luggage from being carried in trains, so that there is no shortage of space for passengers and the load of the train does not increase.

Obviously, this new restriction is important for those passengers who often travel with large amounts of luggage for long journeys. The Railways has appealed to the people to check the weight of the luggage before the journey so that they do not face any problems or additional expenses along the way.
