Important change in LTC rates

It was decided in the cabinet meeting that employees of level 10 or above will get air travel facility and AC first class fare for rail travel. Employees from level 6 to 9 will get AC-2 fare for rail travel, while employees from level 1 to 5 will get AC-3 fare. Apart from this, air travel facility will be available to employees with grade pay of 5400 or more, while employees with grade pay of 1800 to 2800 will be able to avail the benefit of air-conditioned rail travel.

The benefit of LTC will be available to state employees if they have worked in government service for at least five years. Earlier employees had to avail a minimum of 15 days of leave, but now this period has been limited to only five days or the actual period of travel.

Apart from this, the pension given to former MLAs has also been increased. Earlier the pension was Rs 40 thousand, now it has been increased to Rs 60 thousand. Along with this, there will be an increase of Rs 3000 every year, whereas earlier this increase was Rs 2500. A budget of Rs 1.15 lakh crore has also been approved for the financial year 2024-25, and the petrol money of the MLAs has also been increased.

According to the notification issued by Doppw, if an employee withdraws a part of his basic salary, then he will not be allowed to withdraw pension again.
