The property tax department of MCD has taken several steps to make the recovery of property tax more transparent. For this, the help of digital means is being taken. With their help, people paying property tax will get a lot of help.

The property tax department of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has taken several steps to make the recovery of property tax more transparent and efficient. For this, the help of digital means is also being taken. With their help, people paying property tax will get a lot of help. This will reduce human intervention to a minimum. The department says that in just two minutes, property owners can now generate their Unique Property Identification Code (UPIC) completely online. Along with the process being simple, the property will also be identified immediately.

The corporation has started online facility for UPIC merger and transfer. The department says that from April 1, 2024 till now, the corporation has merged 671 UPICs. Along with this, 21,780 people had applied online for UPIC transfer, which were approved.

Property information and chatbot support

Property owners can now easily access details related to their property including UPIC through the corporation’s digital platform. Apart from this, the property owner will be able to get instant assistance through the chatbot facility which will help them understand and navigate the online property tax services.

Youtube channel for civic education

To promote awareness, the MCD has created a YouTube channel with short informative videos that explain key property tax topics such as online PTR filing, UPIC generation and UPIC merger and transfer process.

Electronic notices and digital responses

The MCD has put in place a system that allows all notices under sections 175, 123A/B, 123D, 154, 156(1), 446, 152A and assessment orders to be issued electronically as per the DMC Act (Amendment) 2003. Taxpayers can now receive these notices digitally and submit their responses online without having to rush to the property tax office.

There is a large population present in the country’s capital Delhi. At the same time, space is also required for this population to live. Meanwhile, a big update has come out for the people of Delhi.

Apart from this, people are also going to get significant relief regarding tax. Actually, now in some areas of Delhi, people will be given exemption in house or property tax. This has also been announced. In fact, Delhi Mayor Shaili Oberoi on Saturday announced exemption in house or property tax for residential areas under the rural jurisdiction of MCD.

Delhi Municipal Corporation

Oberoi said the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will not collect any house tax from ‘Lal Dora’ or extended ‘Lal Dora’ properties in rural areas. He said, “MCD will neither send notices nor collect property tax in the residential areas falling under Lal Dora or Extended Lal Dora in its rural jurisdiction. This is a big relief from Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for the people living in rural areas of Delhi.

Tax on properties

However, apart from this, tax will be levied on some properties. Oberoi said that the tax imposed on commercial properties in rural areas will remain the same. Thousands of roads also come under MCD in Delhi. Around 2,168 roads in rural areas of Delhi are notified under MCD and commercial properties located on these roads will have to pay property tax.

Panchayat was held

Earlier, there was also discussion regarding property tax. This decision has been taken after a Panchayat of 360 villages of Delhi was organized on September 3 to discuss the issue of property tax imposed in rural areas. The public is expected to benefit greatly from this.

The post Tax on Property: These people will not have to pay this tax, got exemption first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

Salary Hike: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has decided to increase the minimum salary of its employees. An MCD official gave this information on Monday.

He said that the monthly minimum wage for unskilled workers of MCD will increase from Rs 16,792 to Rs 17,234. Wages for semi-skilled workers will increase from Rs 18,499 to Rs 18,993 and for skilled workers from Rs 20,375 to Rs 20,903.

Benefit will be available from 1st April

Officials said that from April 1, dearness allowance will be paid to all MCD employees. Aam Aadmi Party had announced dearness allowance for all MCD employees from April 1. The government’s proposal on increasing the minimum wage will be placed for approval in the next meeting of the MCD House. The MCD official said that the accumulated dearness allowance for corporation employees will be released after getting approval from the House.

According to the agenda of the MCD House meeting, the minimum wage for clerical and supervisory staff will also be increased. According to the proposal, the minimum wage for non-matric pass employees will increase to Rs 18,993, for matriculate but not graduate employees it will increase to Rs 20,902 and for graduate and above employees the minimum wage will increase to Rs 22,744. Dearness allowance for these employees will be Rs 494, Rs 546 and Rs 598 per month respectively.

After getting power of the corporation, Kejriwal government is continuously claiming to improve its condition. The government’s focus seems to be on issues related to MCD. Some time ago, CM Kejriwal had said that the salary of MCD employees has come on the first date after 13 years. This happened because both the intention and policy of our party are clear.

Help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in MCD

Delhi Municipal Corporation had started MCD App 311 for redressal of complaints related to cleanliness, lighting etc. in all the wards. But, this app did not prove to be as effective due to it not being used by a large number of people. After this, the corporation has started taking the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for cleaning and all other works in its area, especially to know the exact condition of the roads.

The pilot project has started. Under which, through an agency, MCD will solve the problems of three wards Patel Nagar, Kotla Mubarakpur and Preet Vihar. MCD has made preparations for training of officers and employees to resolve complaints through Artificial Intelligence.
