New Delhi. The country’s largest public sector bank SBI has changed the Funds Based Landing Rate (MCLR) on loans, due to which the interest rates on loans have come down.

In fact, State Bank of India has announced the new marginal cost of MCLR. SBI has cut the interest rate of MCLR period by 25 basis points, although other rates remain unchanged. The revised MCLR has become effective from October 15.

What is MCLR

MCLR means Marginal Cost of Funds Based Lending Rate. This is the minimum interest rate at which banks can lend to their customers. MCLR is an internal benchmark that banks use to decide the interest rate on loans.

What are the new MCLR rates

SBI has adjusted the MCLR-based rates in the range of 8.20% to 9.1%. In this, the overnight MCLR rate is 8.20%, for one month this rate has been reduced from 8.45% to 8.20%. At the same time, the six-month MCLR has been fixed at 8.85%, one-year MCLR has been revised to 8.95%, while two-year MCLR has been revised to 9.05%. Apart from this, the MCLR rate for three years is 9.1%.

What are the interest rates in SBI

SBI’s base rate is 10.40%, which is the benchmark prime lending rate (BPLR) revised to 15.15% per annum from September 15. SBI home loan external benchmark lending rate (EBLR) is 9.15%. On home loans, interest rates can vary between 8.50% to 9.65% depending on the borrower’s CIBIL score.

The benchmark marginal cost lending rate (MCLR) has been increased by HDFC Bank. The bank has increased the MCLR for loans of certain tenures, which has come into effect from January 8.

The benchmark marginal cost lending rate (MCLR) has been increased by HDFC Bank. The bank has increased the MCLR for loans of certain tenures, which has come into effect from January 8. The very next day, the bank also increased the interest rates on fixed deposits (FD). The bank has increased the interest rates by up to 25 basis points for some selected periods. These interest rates have come into effect from 9th February.

MCLR rates increased

HDFC Bank has increased MCLR from 8.80 percent to 9.30 percent. The rate for overnight MCLR has been increased by 10 basis points to 8.80 percent, which was earlier 8.70 percent. Whereas MCLR has been increased by 5 basis points for 1 month. Due to this, the interest rate has been increased from 8.75 percent to 8.80 percent.

If we talk about 3 months MCLR, it has also been increased by 5 basis points. Earlier it was 8.95 percent, which has now increased to 9 percent. At the same time, the MCLR rate for 6 months has been increased to 9.20 percent. The 1 year MCLR rate has been increased by 5 basis points to 9.25 percent. Apart from these, there has been no change in the 3 percent MCLR rates and they remain stable at 9.30 percent. Let us tell you that MCLR rates are linked to consumer loans, due to which the loan rates fluctuate.

FD interest rates were also increased

HDFC Bank has also increased the interest rates on fixed deposits (FD). According to the website of HDFC Bank, the new FD rates have come into effect from February 9, 2024. The bank has increased the FD interest rate from 7% to 7.25% for tenure from 18 months to less than 21 months.

Whereas 4.50% interest will be available on FD of 46 days to less than six months. The bank is giving 5.75% interest on FDs of six months to less than nine months. Along with this, the bank is giving 6 percent interest on deposits with maturity of 9 months to less than one year.

The bank has increased the FD interest rate of 18-21 months by 25 bps from 7% to 7.25%.

RBI Monetary Policy: The Reserve Bank of India has announced the monetary policy today and there has been no change in the repo rate and other policy rates. Let us know in details>>>>>

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has announced this in his address today. In this way, there will be no relief on your loan EMI nor will it increase because RBI has maintained the ‘status quo’ on the rates. In this way the repo rate will remain at 6.5 percent.

Stock market got enthusiasm – Nifty crossed 21 thousand for the first time

The stock market has accepted the RBI credit policy immediately. As soon as the RBI Governor’s address started, Nifty made a record high of 21,005.05 and was seen crossing the historical level of 21000.

RBI kept interest rates stable for the fifth consecutive time

Since there is no change in the repo rate in the monetary policy of RBI, banks will continue to get loans at the same rates. This is the fifth consecutive time that the Reserve Bank did not make any changes in its policy rates and kept them stable.

Reserve Bank’s estimate for GDP

The Reserve Bank has increased the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) estimate for the financial year 2024 from 6.5 percent to 7 percent. RBI has maintained the stance of ‘Withdrawal of Accommodation’ in credit policy.

RBI Governor made 2 new announcements for UPI

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said that the UPI transaction limit is being increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh for every transaction in hospitals and educational institutions. This will benefit UPI transactions for the education and healthcare sectors.

Second announcement

In the monetary policy meeting, it has been recommended to make changes in the e-mandate for payments of recurring nature. Under this, the UPI limit for recurring transactions is being increased to Rs 1 lakh per transaction. The RBI Governor has proposed in his address to increase the limit of such UPI payment from Rs 15 thousand to Rs 1 lakh. Under this, the UPI limit will increase mainly for recurring UPI payment for mutual fund subscription, insurance policy premium and credit card repayments.

HDFC Bank New MCLR Rates

HDFC Bank’s overnight MCLR has been increased by 5 bps from 8.65 percent to 8.70 percent.

One month MCLR has been increased by 5 bps from 8.70 percent to 8.75 percent.

The three-month MCLR has also been increased by 5 basis points to 8.95 percent from the previous 8.90 percent.

Six month MCLR is only 9.15 percent. There has been no change in this.

MCLR for period more than one year is 9.20 percent. There has been no change in this either.

MCLR has been increased from 9.20 percent to 9.25 percent for periods more than 2 years.

MCLR remains at 9.25 percent for a period of more than 3 years. There has been no change in this.

New rates have come into effect from today 7th December 2023

Various factors are taken into consideration while deciding MCLR including deposit rate, repo rate, operational cost and cost of maintaining cash reserves ratio. Changes in repo rate affect the MCLR rate. However, the bank has made changes in MCLR even before any decision on the repo rate is taken. MCLR also affects loan interest rates, due to which the EMI of borrowers increases. These new rates have come into effect from today, December 7, 2023.

EMI of auto loan, home loan and personal loan will increase

The effect of increase in MCLR will be seen on the interest rates of all types of loans related to it including home loan, auto loan, personal loan. Loan customers will have to pay more EMI than before. Customers taking new loan will get expensive loan i.e. loan at higher interest.

Relief to loan takers continues from the country’s largest bank, State Bank of India. There has been no change in MCLR by the bank in November. MCLR is directly related to loan interest rates. If there is any change in this, it affects the EMI of the customers taking loan from the bank.

SBI has not changed the MCLR rates.

That means, the MCLR rate applicable from November 15 is the same as last month. The MCLR based rate of the bank is between 8 percent to 8.75 percent. The overnight MCLR rate is 8 per cent, while the MCLR for one month and three month tenors is 8.15 per cent, six month MCLR is 8.45 per cent, one year MCLR is 8.55 per cent, two year tenor MCLR is 8.65 per cent and three year tenor MCLR is 8.75 per cent. .

What is MCLR?

The full form of MCLAR is Marginal Cost of Funds Based Lending Rate. It acts as a benchmark for all types of loans like personal loan, home loan and car loan etc. In simple language, it is the one below which banks do not issue loans. For example, if the MCLR rate in a bank is 8.50 percent, then the bank will not issue home loan, personal loan or car loan at an interest rate less than 8.50 percent.

State Bank of India is the largest bank in the country. The bank has given home loans to more than 30 lakh Indian families. The home loan portfolio of the bank is more than Rs 6.53 lakh crore. According to Mint report, SBI’s market share in home loans is 33.4 percent and in car loans is 19.5 percent. SBI has more than 22,405 branches across the country. The bank also has a large network of 65,627 ATMs.

The post SBI: New MCLR rate has been issued by SBI, check details first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

Recently, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has given great relief to the common man. RBI has not made any change in the repo rate this time. Now its effect is visible.

The country’s largest bank State Bank of India (SBI) has given relief to crores of its customers. The bank has kept the Marginal Cost Based Lending Rate (MCLR) used in determining the interest rate of the loan as before.

Most consumer loans are based on a one-year marginal cost based lending rate. In such a situation, personal loan, auto and home loan rates can remain unchanged due to no change in MCLR. Now you will not have to pay more EMI than before on taking the loan.

Latest interest rates of State Bank of India

The bank has kept MCLR at 7.95 per cent for loans with a tenure of one day while the interest rate for loans with a tenure of 1 month and 3 months will be 8.10 per cent. If you go to take a loan of 6 months from SBI now, then you will have to pay interest according to the MCLR of 8.40 percent. At the same time, the interest rates for loans of one year, 2 years and 3 years have been retained at 8.50 per cent, 8.60 per cent and 8.70 per cent respectively. According to SBI’s website, these rates are effective from April 15, 2023.

What is MCLR?

Significantly, MCLR is a method developed by the Reserve Bank of India, on the basis of which banks determine the interest rate for loans. MCLR is the minimum interest rate below which the bank cannot give any loan.

The pace of increase in the repo rate stopped after 6 consecutive shocks.

Let us tell you that in the first RBI MPC meeting of the new financial year, it has been announced to keep the repo rate stable. The repo rate has been retained at 6.50 per cent. Earlier, RBI had increased the repo rate by 2.50 percent from May 2022 to February 2023.
