You get many features on WhatsApp. Now it is not just an instant messaging app but you can also make calling and payment on it. Now you can also use WhatsApp to buy or recharge metro tickets. Although this service has started in 4 cities of the country.

Meta-owned WhatsApp (WhatsApp Business) has joined hands with metro rail service providers of various Indian cities for WhatsApp chatbot. This means that users will be able to avail many services of Metro through WhatsApp Chatbot sitting at home.

Facilities will be available in these 4 cities

The services of WhatsApp chatbot are available for the passengers of Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune Metro. Using this service, people can book, buy, cancel or top-up their metro tickets. Apart from this, passengers can get train time table, route map, fare and other information.

Metro services now integrated on WhatsApp

Ravi Garg, Business Managing Director, WhatsApp India said that India’s digital revolution is now making public transport safer, smarter and more convenient. We are proud that India’s world class metro services in many cities are now integrated on WhatsApp. We would be happy to support other cities and help digitize train transit on WhatsApp to make life easier for metro commuters.

How to use WhatsApp chatbot for metro services

Users in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune can chat with the bot in local language or in English. For example, to activate the chatbot in Bengaluru, users need to click on the link https://wa.me/+918105556677 and send a message by typing ‘Hi’. Once the bot is activated, you can get a URL from it to book an e-ticket. In Mumbai, e-tickets will have to be verified at the Automated Fare Collection (AFC) gate.
