Money Transfer by Mistake: Many times it happens that a mistake is made in transferring money. Instead of the one you have to pay, it goes to someone else. Recovery is possible in such cases…

During the last few years, the prevalence of digital banking has increased significantly in the country. Easy availability of smartphones and internet has given a boost to digital banking. UPI has taken it to far-flung villages. This has made many banking operations especially money transactions possible in a jiffy. However, some dangers have also increased with this. There was a mistake of one digit that the money goes to someone else. Due to this many people have to suffer loss.

This precaution will reduce the mistake

If money goes somewhere else by mistake, it can be recovered if action is taken in time. Today we are going to tell you this. Before that, let us talk about some precautions, so that such mistake does not happen. Please double check the details before sending money anywhere. If you are sending through UPI, then after scanning the QR code or entering other details, the name of the account holder appears, confirm it. By doing this, the chances of making a mistake will be reduced and you will get rid of the later problems.

Must check email and message

After transferring money in any way, the message and email of money deduction comes. After transferring the money, do check the message and email. With this, you can immediately know whether the money has gone to the wrong account. If you have mistakenly sent money elsewhere, inform your bank without delay.

For this, the customer care of the bank can be called. The bank can ask you all the information regarding this on email. In the email, inform the bank about the details like transaction number, amount, account from which money was deducted, money transferred to which account by mistake, date and time of transaction.

RBI has done this measure

For such a situation, RBI has taken a big work measure. Whenever you do a transaction, in the message or email you get to inform you about it, banks ask whether you have done this transaction by mistake. The Reserve Bank has made it mandatory to ask this. Along with this, it is also necessary to provide a number or email in that message.

If the money is transferred by mistake or goes to the wrong account, then immediately complain on that number or email. This is the easiest way to get back the money deducted by mistake.

Digital payment systems like Unified Payments Interface (UPI) have revolutionized the way transactions are done. They have eliminated the use of cash in most cases by allowing one to scan a QR code and transfer the desired amount directly to the bank account.

From street vendors to retail chains, UPI is now ubiquitous in India because of the ease with which transactions are made. Even after that , due to wrong typing of UPI ID many times the money gets transferred to someone else. What should be done in such a situation so that your money can be recovered?

If wrong UPI ID money has been transferred

By the way UPI is a safe payment system. Even after that, even small mistakes made on your part can cause financial loss. Entering wrong UPI ID and transferring money to someone else’s bank account by mistake are some of the mistakes you might have come across. Most of us panic in such situations, but according to the Reserve Bank of India, you are recovering the money transferred to another account by entering the wrong UPI by taking the right steps.

RBI Guideline UPI wrong transfer: Nowadays in mobile banking, many times money is transferred from bank account to wrong account or from one account to another bank account. Sometimes this happens in banking fraud as well.

UPI, net banking, mobile wallet have reduced the difficulties related to banking transactions to a great extent. In this way, you do not need to go to the bank to transfer money to someone’s account. This work is done in a pinch with just a mobile. But many times money gets transferred to the wrong number in this. In this case, you can also get this amount back. Let us know its process.

RBI issued new guideline (RBI Guideline Wrong upi Payment Transfer)

Let us tell you that according to the new guidelines of RBI, it is the responsibility of the bank to refund your money within 48 hours. If the bank does not help in getting the money back, then the customer can complain at bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in. If by mistake money goes to a wrong account, then for this, a complaint letter will have to be written and given to the bank. In this, you have to write the account number, the name of the account holder, the account number in which the money has gone.

This is how you can get refund from the bank (Bank Refund UPI)

If by mistake the money goes to the wrong account, then call your bank and enter the PPBL number with all the information. When you make payment, this number comes on your mobile. After this, you can go to the bank and complain about it. There you have to write a complaint letter to the branch manager. In this letter, write the account number to which the money went. Before going to the bank, keep all these things with you because all these things will be useful in the complaint. Transaction reference number, date of transaction, amount and IFSC code

Register a case immediately

There is also a legal way to get your money back. If the person in whose account money has been transferred by mistake, he refuses to return it, then a case can also be filed against him in the court. However, in case of non-refund of money, this right is considered a violation of the Reserve Bank rules. As per the guidelines of Reserve Bank of India, it is the responsibility of the linker to give correct information about the beneficiary’s account. If, for any reason, the linker makes a mistake, then the bank is not considered responsible for it.

The post RBI Guideline UPI wrong transfer: Money transferred from UPI to wrong account, full payment will be received; just have to do this work first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.
