Monsoon Update: Active Western Disturbance in North India, Cyclonic Circulation over Rajasthan, East-West Trough Line moving northwards, these are the three conditions that are helping the monsoon to spread rapidly across the country. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the monsoon will spread across the country by the end of this month.

The weather is changing suddenly with the activation of the southwest monsoon in Punjab. There is a possibility of rain with thunderstorm in many parts of the state from June 28 to the next few days. Yellow alert for rain has been issued in 12 districts today.

The weather in Punjab is going to remain active for the next 3-4 days from June 28. Warnings of heavy to very heavy rain have been issued in some areas. People have been advised to remain alert and pay attention to the warnings issued by the Meteorological Department.

Rain warning in 12 districts today

Temperatures will remain normal in most parts of the state today. Rain is likely in some districts of Punjab such as Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Sangrur, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Kapurthala.

A heavy rain warning has been issued in the state on June 29. Heavy to very heavy rain with thundershowers has been predicted in districts like Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Malerkotla, Patiala, Mohali, Rupnagar. Along with this, there is a possibility of cloudiness and rain in south-western districts like Muktsar, Faridkot, Moga, Bathinda.

June 30 – Thunderstorms and rain have been predicted in most districts of the state. Yellow alert has been issued especially in areas like Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Mohali, Sangrur, Patiala etc.

Heavy rainfall has been forecast in the states of Bengal, Bihar and Odisha due to a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal. The Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy rainfall in the coastal areas of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

A cyclonic circulation has formed over central Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, a trough line is passing from Maharashtra, Gujarat to Chhattisgarh and Odisha towards Madhya Pradesh, due to which heavy rain is likely. The Meteorological Department said that due to the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal, heavy rain may occur in some districts of West Bengal and Odisha.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains accompanied by strong winds, thunderstorms and lightning in many parts of Andhra Pradesh for the next five days. It also said that strong winds with a speed of 40 to 50 kmph are likely in some areas. The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert of heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms in coastal areas of Karnataka.
