A new facility has been started for customers using UPI. Under this, they can now deposit cash in ATMs using UPI. A debit card will not be required for this. Currently, Axis Bank and Union Bank of India have started this facility for their customers. Soon this service will gradually be available in all ATMs.

RBI has launched UPI-ICD service in collaboration with National Payment Corporation. In this, cash can be deposited in cash deposit machine using UPI app. According to NPCI, this facility will be available with other ATM operators besides banks.

What are the options right now

Currently, customers have two options to deposit cash in bank accounts – visiting the bank branch or depositing cash through ATM using their debit card.

How to deposit cash in ATM

First of all, locate the ATM in your area where the cash deposit machine is installed and the facility is available.

Select the cash deposit option on the screen and press OK. Then enter the mobile number linked to UPI, Virtual Payment Address or IFSC code of the account.

This work can also be done by scanning the QR code given on the screen.

Then place the money in the slot and enter the number of notes for each denomination.

The amount deposited will be visible in the UPI app. Verify the amount being deposited through the app.

Authorize the transaction with UPI PIN. You will receive a receipt after the cash is deposited.

People’s trust in UPI payment increased

The use of UPI is increasing rapidly in the country. In August, transactions through UPI were 58% higher than the same period last year. On the other hand, people are adopting Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) for safe payment of gas, electricity, DTH and other bills. This shows that people’s trust in online transactions is constantly increasing.

RBI data shows that transactions through UPI have increased by 35 percent between April and August in the current year, after which transactions worth Rs 101 lakh crore have been done through UPI. During this period, NCPI has also expanded the UPI service. UPI Person to Merchant (P2M) facility was also started in Nepal from March 2024. Since then, more than one lakh transactions have been done through UPI in Nepal. Along with this, the use of Fastag and National Common Mobility Card has also increased rapidly with the facility of auto payment and wallet payment.

UPI Lite Wallet allows users to make instant transactions up to Rs.200 once loaded. No PIN will be required for transactions up to Rs.200. This will make the payment process easier and faster. In this, a maximum of 2 thousand rupees can be added at a time. You can spend a maximum of Rs 4,000 through UPI Lite in 24 hours.

How to activate UPI Lite feature in Google Pay

• Open the Google Pay app
• Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the app’s home screen.
• After this click on UPI Lite Pay Pin Free and follow the instructions.
• To add money, select an eligible bank bank account that supports UPI Lite.
• The UPI Lite account will be activated successfully as soon as you enter the UPI PIN.
• It is worth noting that you can create only one UPI Lite account on Google Pay.

The Income Tax Department has launched the co-browsing feature on its official website e-filing. With its help, taxpayers will be able to connect with their experts in real time and seek their help.

This feature will allow the ITR filer to connect directly and personally with his expert or CA. With this, taxpayers will be able to talk to their CA or advisor sitting at home. Your expert will be able to type, scroll and do all other work on the site and you can give him directions.

With the co browsing feature, taxpayers will be able to take the advice of their experts and CAs even on live chat and phone calls. The most important thing is that through this feature even a person sitting far away can fill ITR on the Income Tax Portal with the advice of his expert in real time.

In this feature, the facility to fill forms, change settings, complete transactions and upload documents will also be available. The co-using agent or CA will not be able to see any other information on the desktop or laptop of the income tax payer. The taxpayer can stop using this facility whenever he wants.

There is no need for both the parties using this feature to download any third app or take help of any other third party application. However, this would be different from screen sharing. In this, the agent or expert will not be able to see the entire screen of the taxpayer, but only the active window.
