What You Need Before You Start

Here’s the thing: the NTA won’t process incomplete applications. Therefore, keep these details ready before you log in:

Account holder name — must match your NEET registration exactly

IFSC code — double-check; one wrong digit and the refund bounces

Account number — savings or current, either works

Bank name — as per RBI records

Scanned cancelled cheque — optional but strongly recommended for verification

Moreover, the NTA has made it clear: no changes allowed after submission. In other words, if you enter a wrong account number, your refund could end up in someone else’s pocket — and the NTA won’t fix it.

“After submission of the details by the candidate, the same shall be treated as final and no further changes shall be permitted thereafter,” the NTA cautioned.

Step-by-Step: How to Apply for NEET UG 2026 Fee Refund

The process is straightforward — if you follow it carefully. Specifically, here’s what you need to do:

First, visit the official website: Go to neet.nta.nic.in

Next, log in: Use your NEET UG 2026 registration credentials — application number and password

Then, locate the refund link: Look for the “Fee Refund” or “Bank Account Details” tab on your dashboard

After that, fill in your bank details: Enter account holder name, account number, IFSC code, and bank name as per Annexure-I format

Subsequently, upload documents: Attach the scanned cancelled cheque (optional but recommended)

Finally, submit and save: Cross-check every digit before hitting submit — remember, no edits allowed later

That’s it. But then, don’t close the browser immediately. Instead, take a screenshot of the confirmation page and save the reference number. You’ll need it if the refund gets delayed.

⚠️ Important Warning

Deadline: May 27, 2026 — no extensions expected

Chargebacks will complicate the refund process and may disqualify you

Why NEET UG 2026 Was Cancelled in the First Place

For those who missed the backstory, here’s what happened. The original NEET-UG 2026 exam was held on May 3, 2026. But then, a paper leak surfaced — forcing the NTA to cancel the entire exam nationwide.

As a result, the Supreme Court intervened, and the government ordered a re-exam. Consequently, lakhs of students who had prepared for months found themselves back at square one.

Nevertheless, the NTA has now scheduled the re-NEET for June 21, 2026. Furthermore, fresh admit cards will be issued for the new exam date. Therefore, candidates must download the updated hall ticket — the old one from May 3 is invalid.

How to Download Re-NEET UG 2026 Admit Card

The NTA will release fresh admit cards soon. In the meantime, here’s how to get yours when the link goes live:

Visit: neet.nta.nic.in

Click: “Re-NEET Hall Ticket” or “Download Admit Card” link

Login: Enter your application number and date of birth

Download: Save the PDF and check all details — name, exam centre, photo, signature

Print: Take a colour printout on A4 paper; keep 2-3 copies

Moreover, carry a valid photo ID — Aadhaar, PAN, passport, or voter ID — along with the admit card. Without both, you won’t be allowed inside the exam hall.

What This Means for NEET Aspirants

So why does the refund matter? After all, most students will reappear for the June 21 exam anyway.

Here’s why: not everyone will. Specifically, some candidates may have secured seats through state quotas, private colleges, or alternative entrance exams like AIIMS and JIPMER. For them, the NEET fee is dead money — and ₹1,700 to ₹3,500 (general category) isn’t small change for most families.

Furthermore, the refund process signals accountability. In contrast to previous years when fee disputes dragged on for months, the NTA is processing this batch within weeks. Therefore, students should treat this as a limited-window opportunity — not a permanent facility.

Similarly, the re-exam scheduling gives candidates roughly four weeks of extra prep time. While some welcome the breather, others are frustrated by the delay. Nevertheless, the June 21 date is final — no further postponements expected.

The Bottom Line

Three things to remember. First: the refund link is live now at neet.nta.nic.in. Second: the deadline is May 27 — miss it, and your money stays with the NTA. Third: do NOT file a chargeback through your bank; use the official portal only.

For those reappearing on June 21, keep checking the NTA website for admit card updates. In the meantime, focus on revision — you’ve got one more shot, and this time, the paper better be leak-proof.

We will keep tracking NTA updates as the May 27 refund deadline and June 21 re-exam approach.

JEE Main Notification: National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for JEE Main 2025. Registration for JEE Main 2025 Session 1 has started on the official website – jeemain.nta.nic.in, the last date to apply is November 22, 2024.

According to the official notification, the exam is scheduled from January 22 to January 31, 2025. Admit cards will be issued three days before the commencement of the exam.

Ahead of the JEE Main 2025 exam, NTA has updated the tie-breaking rules to rank candidates with equal marks. Under the revised system, the age of the candidates and JEE Main 2025 application number will no longer be a factor in the ranking decision.

The official notice states, “There is no age limit for candidates to appear in JEE (Mains) – 2025. Candidates who have passed Class XII/equivalent examination in 2023 & 2024 or appearing in 2025 can appear in JEE (Mains) – 2025 examination irrespective of their age. However, candidates may need to fulfil the age criteria of the institute in which they are seeking admission.” Now the ranking will be based only on the exam performance of the candidates. If the score remains the same, the candidates will get the same JEE Main rank.

JEE Main 2025: Tie-Breaking Rules

For JEE Main 2025, if the candidates have the same total NTA score, the tie will be resolved using these criteria.

Candidate with highest NTA score in Maths

Candidate having highest NTA score in Physics

Candidate having highest NTA score in Chemistry

Candidates with a low ratio of correct answers to wrong answers across all subjects in the exam

Candidates with a low ratio of correct answers to wrong answers in Maths

Candidates with a low ratio of correct answers to wrong answers in Physics

Candidates with lower ratio of wrong answers to correct answers in Chemistry

If the situation of tie still persists then the candidates will be given equal rank.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) consists of two papers. Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Graduate Engineering Programmes (BE/BTech) in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) and institutions/universities funded or recognized by the participating State Governments.

JEE Main also serves as an eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which is required for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Paper 2, on the other hand, is conducted for admission to BArch and BPlanning courses across India. For more details, candidates can visit the official website of JEE Main 2025.
