The Indian Meteorological Department says that a cyclonic storm is again seen forming in the upper levels of the northwestern Bay of Bengal. The weather office said that the east-west trough line runs over North Punjab to the cyclonic circulation which extends up to the lower tropospheric level.

Prediction of Indian Meteorological Department – During the next 5 days, heavy rain is expected in many areas of the country with sporadic thunderstorms and lightning. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Odisha during June 23-26. Scattered heavy rainfall is also likely over Arunachal Pradesh and Bihar on June 23. Assam and Meghalaya on 23rd, 26th and 27th, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram during 23rd to 27th, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on 23rd and 26th, Odisha on 27th and Jharkhand on 25th and 26th .

Isolated heavy/very heavy rainfall very likely over Uttarakhand & Himachal Pradesh during 23-27th and isolated heavy falls very likely over Uttar Pradesh during 24-26th. Heavy rain very likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and East Rajasthan during June 25-27.
