During this time the temperature will be between 24 degrees Celsius to 28 degrees Celsius. On Tuesday, many parts of Maharashtra including Mumbai received heavy rains, which have been continuing for the last few weeks.

Orange alert issued

The IMD has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall. The Brihan mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also reiterated this warning and advised people to avoid unnecessary travel. The warning also applies to Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts of the Konkan region of Maharashtra, a statement said.

55 incidents registered in 24 hours

Data provided by the weather department showed that Colaba received heavy rainfall of around 100 mm, while the Santacruz recording station recorded 42 mm of rain during the same period. In the wake of the heavy rains, civic data showed that 55 incidents of partial house collapse, tree fall and short circuit were recorded in the city in the 24 hours till Tuesday morning, according to the Indian Express. Of these, the city witnessed 10 incidents of partial wall collapse, while 34 incidents of tree fall were recorded.

According to the IMD, heavy rains are expected in Himachal Pradesh from July 11 to 13, Jammu on July 12 and 13 and in northern Haryana and northern Punjab on July 12. Apart from this, heavy rains are likely in eastern Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh on July 11.

Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya till July 14. Jharkhand is likely to receive heavy rains on July 11 and 12. Odisha will also receive heavy rains from July 12 to 14.
