Along with the entire state, the One Time Settlement Scheme of Electricity Corporation has been implemented in Ghaziabad also from November 8. The objectives of the scheme are to provide relief to old defaulters in making payments. The One Time Settlement Scheme has been implemented in three phases from November 8 to December 31.

Under the scheme, 100 percent exemption in surcharge is being given to old defaulters on lump sum payment. Besides, consumers have also been given the option of paying their dues in installments. Under the scheme, people involved in electricity theft cases have been given the opportunity of exemption on settlement of their fine amount through lump sum payment or installments.

People wishing to make payments under the scheme will have to register themselves. Registration facility is provided through both online and offline modes. The payment under the scheme has been divided into three phases from November 8 to November 30, December 1 to December 15 and December 15 to December 31. Relief will be given on different percentage basis in each phase.
