India made a big announcement on Monday, giving a big blow to Pakistan. India has extended the period of closure of airspace for flights operated by Pakistani airline companies for one month till July 24.

Let us tell you that Indian airspace has been closed for Pakistani airline companies and operators since April 30, or planes owned or leased by them, including military flights. After the death of 26 people in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir on April 22, the Indian government had imposed many strict restrictions against Pakistan and closing the airspace was also one of those decisions.

The airspace was to be opened on May 24, the restrictions were extended twice
The airspace closed by India for Pakistani aircraft was initially scheduled to be opened on May 24, but it was extended by a month to June 24. A new NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) was issued on Monday, extending the ban by another month to July 24, 2025. According to NOTAM, Indian airspace will not be available to planes registered in Pakistan, planes operated by Pakistani airlines and operators, planes owned or leased by Pakistani companies, military planes.

Pakistan is copy-pasting India’s decisions

Pakistan, enraged by this decision of India, has also extended the period of closing its airspace for Indian aircraft by one month. Pakistan has now extended the ban on using its airspace for Indian aircraft till 24 July. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Indian government suspended the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan. After which Pakistan had banned its airspace for India till 24 May on 24 April. However, in view of India’s decisions, Pakistan is also extending this ban for a period of 1 month each.
