Some important documents are required for applying for a passport, such as identity proof (Aadhar card, voter ID), birth certificate and address proof (electricity bill, bank statement). From September 28, application for Police Clearance Certificate can be made online at Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSK). Earlier, this facility was available only on the Government’s Passport Seva Portal or in case of foreigners at the Indian Embassy/High Commission Office. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that the aim of this step is to provide the certificate without any delay.

Step-1: Visit the Passport Seva Online Portal.

Step-2: Log in to your account using your login credentials.

Step-3: Click on Apply for Police Clearance Certificate link available on the screen.

Step-4: Fill the form with the required details and click on submit.

Step-5: To make an appointment booking request, view the submitted applications, then click on the link “Pay & Schedule Appointment”.

Step-6: Pay the fee online through Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking and other modes to process your request.

Step-7: Save the application receipt for future use.

Step-8:Now, visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Regional Passport Office (RPO) where your appointment has been booked. Do not forget to carry all the required documents.
