According to the report, documents for verification will be scanned through AI tools. In this, birth certificate, Aadhaar card, mark sheet, address and other details will be checked. Fraud cases like fake Aadhaar card, wrong name and date of birth will be immediately revealed during the check. If anything is found wrong, applicants will be asked to rectify it immediately.

This will eliminate the need for manual checking. Let us tell you that if you are planning to go abroad, then the most important document you should have is a passport. Without this, you will not get entry into any foreign country. To go abroad, first of all you have to get your passport made. If you have not yet got your passport made, then you can easily get your passport made in 15 days by applying online from the comfort of your home. The government has made changes in the document related to date of birth. Those who were born after October 1, 2023. Only the birth certificate will be accepted as a date of birth certificate for their passport. However, for those born before this, other documents will be accepted as before. This includes PAN card, driving license, etc.

Additionally, for security and privacy, the home address will be recorded in the passport as a bar code. When scanned by the authorities, they will get all the information.

No other document will be required to verify date of birth.

People born after October 1, 2023 will now have to show a birth certificate to verify their date of birth, but people born before October 1, 2023 can still use alternative documents like a driving license, school leaving certificate, PAN card, Aadhaar card to verify their date of birth.

Color coding and change in parent names

Color codes have also been introduced for identification of passports. Under this, there will be a white passport for government officials, a red passport for diplomats and a blue passport for ordinary citizens. This is being done to ensure quick identification of different categories.

This will no longer require the parents’ names to be given on the passport. This will be effective in situations where there is a single parent. This will avoid unnecessary disclosure in these situations.

Along with this, to speed up passport services, the government is planning to increase the number of post office passport service centers from 442 to 600. This increase can be done in the next 5 years.

Amendments in passport rules

The central government has amended the passport rules. Under this, for passport applicants born on or after 1 October 2023, the certificate issued by the appropriate authorities will be the only proof of date of birth. This week, an official note has been issued to effect the amendment in the Passport Rules 1980.

New passport rules

The new passport rules will come into force after the amendments are published in the official gazette. Under the new norms, birth certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths, Municipal Corporation or any other authority empowered under the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1969 will be accepted as proof of date of birth for persons born on or after 1 October 2023. Other applicants can submit alternative documents, such as driving license or school leaving certificate, as proof of date of birth.

Indian passport

Indian passport is an important document issued by the Indian government. Through this, Indians traveling abroad can prove their citizenship. There are 3 types of Indian passports. Regular, official and diplomatic, in which regular passport is given to the common citizen. Official passport is for government officials and diplomats.
