The scheme was started in the interim budget

PM Kisan Yojana was started five years ago. While presenting the budget in February 2019, the then Finance Minister Piyush Goyal had announced the PM Kisan Yojana. Interestingly, that budget was also an interim budget, which was presented just before the end of the first term of the Modi government. After that, this is the interim budget of the second term of the Modi government.

More than 9 crore farmers are getting benefits

According to the dashboard of PM Kisan Yojana, currently more than 9 crore small farmers are taking advantage of this scheme. Under this scheme, every year small farmers are given assistance of Rs. 6-6 thousand by the Central Government.

This help is transferred to the farmers’ accounts every four months. It is paid to the farmers in three installments of Rs 2,000 each. For the period August-November 2023, 9,07,52,758 farmers had received the payment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi installment of Rs 2,000 each.

4 crore farmers got help

While presenting the budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that 11.8 crore farmers have received financial assistance under the PM-Kisan scheme. The Finance Minister said that the present government has provided a lot of help to the farmers across the country. The government’s Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme has helped 4 crore farmers. In the last budget, Rs 13,625 crore was allocated to the scheme.

Nano DAP after Nano Urea

During this, he told that now 1,361 e-mandis have been integrated under e-NAM. This is supporting the trading volume of Rs 3 lakh crore. Government procurement of crops from farmers is also increasing.

In 2023-24, 38 lakh metric tonnes of rice and 262 lakh tonnes of wheat have been purchased from farmers. Referring to the success of Nano Urea, he said that now preparations are going on to start the initiative of Nano DAP.
