If you are also a customer of Punjab National Bank, then there is important news for you. If you have not done KYC till now, get it done immediately. The bank has appealed to the customers to update KYC. The bank has said that all customers should get KYC done by 12 December 2022. For the last several months, the bank has been appealing to its customers to update KYC (know your customer). By getting KYC done, the bank account of the customers will remain active, otherwise the customers will not be able to transfer funds.

PNB gave information

Punjab National Bank has tweeted to its customers that all customers should get their KYC updated. According to the information given by the bank, if you have not updated your KYC yet, then from December 12, you will not be able to do transactions from your account. Information in this regard has been given by issuing instructions from the Reserve Bank of India.

Let us tell you that the full form of KYC is ‘Know Your Customer’. Actually, KYC is a document giving information about a customer. Under this, customers write all the necessary information about themselves. In the field of banking, every 6 months or 1 year banks have to fill KYC form from their customers. In this KYC form, you have to fill your name, bank account number, PAN card number, Aadhaar card number, mobile number and complete address. In this way the bank gets all the information of the customer. KYC is very easy to do. You can easily do it sitting at home.

KYC can be done by going to the bank

If you want to go to the bank and get it done, you can do that too. For this, first of all, you go to the branch of the bank in which you have a bank account. Go there and take the KYC form from the concerned desk and after filling that form and attaching all the necessary documents in it, submit it. Your KYC gets updated within 3 working days after the KYC form is submitted.

Do KYC like this sitting at home

– Even if you want to do KYC sitting at home, you can do it.
For this you can e-mail your document bank.
You can also complete KYC by calling OTP on mobile through Aadhaar.
Many banks also provide KYC facility through net banking.
– If your bank is also providing this facility and you do net banking, then you can easily complete KYC sitting at home.

Punjab National Bank Guidelines: If your account is in Punjab National Bank (PNB), then this information is very important for you. PNB Bank says that customers who have not updated their KYC ( Know Your Customer ) yet, may face many problems from next month.

Customers whose KYC will remain pending after December 12, may face difficulty in doing transactions from their account. That’s why it is very important for all customers to get KYC done by 12 December. The bank has said that according to the rules of the Reserve Bank of India , customers should get their KYC updated by December 12, 2022.

PNB has said in a press release that the customers whose KYC updation is pending, have been informed through two notices on their registered address and SMS on their registered mobile numbers. On 20 and 21 November 2022, the bank had issued a notification in this regard on its social media account as well.

Punjab National Bank had said in its tweet that as per RBI guidelines, KYC updation is mandatory for all customers. If your account was due for KYC updation by 30.09.2022, you have already been informed about the same. Visit the base branch to update your KYC before 12.12.2022. Due to non-updation, the operation of your account can be banned.

RBI gave this advice

The Reserve Bank of India has advised all banks to update KYC regularly in view of the increasing threat of online fraud in the country. Earlier banks used to ask customers to update KYC once in 10 years, but now many banks are advising to update it even after an interval of three years.

These documents will have to be given for KYC

Customers will have to provide address proof, photo, PAN, Aadhaar number and mobile number to get KYC updated. You can also accomplish this task by sending an e-mail. Also, you can complete this process by visiting the branch of the bank. The bank has made it clear that no customer is called for KYC update. So don’t fall into this kind of trap. If any customer has KYC related problem, they can directly contact the customer care number of the bank. Or you can go to the bank and contact the employees.
