FD Interest Rate: As you all know that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cut the repo rate by 50 basis points. At the same time, this may continue in the coming time as the rate cut was seen as the beginning of the rate cut cycle by the banking regulator.

Following this, a private bank has already cut its savings bank interest rate. Not only this, there are expectations that most private and government banks will soon start cutting their interest rates on FDs. Before the banks do so, it is also considered an opportune time to lock your savings in FDs.

However, experts also advise to avoid locking too much money in FDs as interest income on FDs is taxable and those in the highest tax bracket, i.e. 30 per cent, effectively get less than 5 per cent of their interest income on FDs when the interest offered is 7 per cent.

However, if you are planning to invest a part of your portfolio in FDs for one year, these are the banks and their interest rates.

FD Interest Rates on One Year Deposit

HDFC Bank: The largest private bank offers 6.6 per cent and 7.10 per cent interest to general and senior citizens on one-year FD deposits.

ICICI Bank: This private lender offers 6.7 per cent and 7.20 per cent interest to general and senior citizens on one-year FD deposits.

Kotak Mahindra Bank: This private bank offers slightly higher interest rate of 7.10 per cent to general citizens and 7.6 per cent to senior citizens on 1-year FD deposits.

Federal Bank: It offers 7 per cent and 7.5 per cent interest to general citizens and senior citizens on 1-year FD deposits.

Bank of Baroda: This bank gives 6.85 percent interest to general citizens and 7.35 percent interest to senior citizens on 1 year FD.

Union Bank of India: This government bank gives 6.8 percent interest to general citizens and 7.3 percent interest to senior citizens on one-year FD.

Jobs Record News: Indian banks have registered tremendous progress in providing jobs. The pace of providing jobs by banks has been the fastest in the last decade. After the financial year 2012, people have got the maximum number of jobs in the banking sector in 2023. Top officials of the banking sector have expected the trend to continue in the financial year 2024 also. According to the news published in Economic Times, the competition for new appointments may exceed last year’s record. Not only this, this figure can reach its highest level ever.

Highest figure in last 10 years

According to data released by the Reserve Bank, public and private sector banks together employed 123,000 employees in the last financial year. This figure is the highest in the last 10 years. During this period, private banks have made rapid appointments. Recruitment was done especially in customer interface and technology functions. The aim of private banks is to rapidly expand their branch network in Tier 3 and rural areas.

1.24 lakh jobs were given in 2012

The number of employees increased by 61% in 2023 compared to financial year 2022. The effect of this was that the total number of employees increased by 7.4% on an annual basis to 1.76 million (17.6 lakh). The banking sector saw its highest-ever annual job growth with 125,000 new hires in fiscal year 2011. After this, in the financial year 2012, 124,000 people were given jobs by the banks.

Added 350 new employees every day

According to the report of ET, 15 private banks including private sector giants HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IndusInd Bank, IDFC First Bank, Bandhan Bank and AU Bank have hired about 350 new employees every working day of 2023. Added to. If the figures of replacement hiring are also added to this, then the number of employees getting jobs every working day becomes 600. Based on this, the number of employees in the coming year may cross the record 2011 figure.

Banks looking to take advantage of rural growth

HDFC Bank Chief Economist Abhik Barua said that the demand for employees in banks has increased due to increase in retail loans, housing demand and boom in the economy. Rajkamal Vempati, HR Head of Axis Bank, says that every bank wants to take advantage of the growth in rural areas. Banks are rapidly reaching semi-urban and rural areas. Amidst the increasing opportunities for jobs in banks, banks are also facing the difficulty of retaining old employees.

Reason for increase in jobs in banks

Rapid increase in retail loans, housing demand and growth in the economy are also creating huge demand for manpower in banks. The number of employees in the year 2023 has increased by 61 percent as compared to the financial year 2022. This figure is expected to increase from the current 1.23 lakh in the coming year. Before the year 2023, 1.25 lakh employees were appointed in 2011 and 1.24 lakh in 2012.

Banking System: Banking sector in India is quite big. At the same time, the number of people working in this sector is also very high.

Meanwhile, it is also being seen that people are leaving jobs in private banks. Regarding this, the RBI Governor has said that he is keeping an eye on this issue. In fact, it has been seen for quite some time that employees are leaving jobs in private banks.

Employees quitting their jobs

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das said that the attrition rate of employees in some private sector banks is very high and the central bank is keeping a close watch on this issue. Das said at Business Standard’s annual event ‘BFSI Insight Summit’ that the Reserve Bank is keeping an eye on this issue under regulatory surveillance.

Attrition rate

Some major banks have informed that the attrition rate has exceeded 30 percent. Commenting on this figure, Das said that each bank will have to form a core team to deal with such issues. He also said that the attitude of the youth regarding changing jobs is changing and the youth are now thinking differently on this aspect.

Strong pace of growth in the economy

The RBI chief said that the growth momentum in the Indian economy remains strong and the second quarter GDP figures will surprise everyone. Along with this, he said that geopolitical uncertainty is the biggest risk to global growth, but India is in a better position to deal with possible risks.

This could be the reason

In fact, in the present era, youth are switching jobs quickly. Due to this, along with salary hike, they also get the offer of good designation. Its effect is now being seen in the banking sector also. Due to which employees are leaving jobs in private banks.

The post Bank Job: Employees leaving jobs in private banks, what is the reason for leaving the job? first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

HDFC Bank, the country’s largest private bank, has recently launched two special fixed deposit schemes for a limited time. The bank has launched two FD plans for a period of 35 months and 55 months, in which investment has started from May 29, 2023.

The bank is paying more than seven percent interest on fixed deposits of both these periods. Along with this, senior citizens will get an additional interest of 0.50 percent on the investment. However, this FD scheme is open for investment for a limited period of time.

Interest rate on Special FD

According to the bank, those investing in the Special Fixed Deposit Scheme with a tenure of 35 months or 2 years 11 months will get interest at the rate of 7.20 per cent. At the same time, the bank is offering interest at the rate of 7.25 percent on special FDs with a period of 55 months or 4 years and 7 months. HDFC Bank is offering interest ranging from three per cent to 7.25 per cent on its other term fixed deposits. The bank is offering a maximum interest rate of 7.25 per cent on fixed deposits with a tenure of 4 years, 7 months to 10 years.

FD interest calculation

According to the bank’s website, the current interest rates are applicable from May 29, 2023, on deposits of less than Rs 2 crore. Some time ago HDFC Bank has changed the interest rates of FDs of less than one year and 15 months and made it 6.6 percent. Usually, HDFC Bank gives between 3% and 7.10% on fixed deposits above Rs 2 crore for regular citizens.

HDFC Bank calculates interest based on the actual number of days in a year. If the deposit is in a leap and a non-leap year, interest is calculated based on the number of days. That is, there are 366 days in a leap year and 365 days in a non-leap year.

Fixed repo rate

In the last financial year, the Reserve Bank had increased the repo rate continuously. After this, banks also increased the interest rates to make their FD schemes attractive. In the current financial year, the Reserve Bank has not yet increased the repo rate in any way. Repo rate is the rate at which the Reserve Bank lends to other banks.

The post HDFC Bank is giving bumper interest on special FD, strong returns on investment of 55 months first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.
