According to a report by Skymet Weather, monsoon has covered the central and northwestern parts of the Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of Mizoram, Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, parts of Assam and some parts of Meghalaya, receiving heavy rainfall.

In the coming 2 to 3 days, monsoon may reach the remaining parts of Central Arabian Sea, some more parts of Maharashtra, remaining parts of Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, some more parts of North Bay of Bengal, entire Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Sikkim.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in many areas. Rain may occur in Northeast India, Sikkim, Odisha, North Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, South-East Rajasthan, East Gujarat and Lakshadweep. Light rain and thundershowers may occur in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Western Himalayan regions.

At the same time, an orange alert for very heavy rain has been issued in the adjoining parts Marathwada, southern Maharashtra, and northern interior Karnataka. The weather department said that a yellow alert for very heavy rain has been issued today in parts of central India including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, southern Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, northern Gujarat, Odisha, and northeastern India. Along with this, the weather department said that there is also a possibility of thunderstorms in these areas. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunderstorms in some parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
