If you have a Rs 20 note, then this news is special for you. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that a new Rs 20 note will be released in the market very soon. This new note will have the signature of the current RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra.

What will the new Rs 20 note look like? The RBI has said that this new note will be of a new series and its design and features will be similar to the existing Rs 20 note. This means that there will be no major changes in the design, only the name of the Governor and some new features will be added.

Color and Size: The new Rs 20 note will be light greenish-yellow in color. Its size will be 63mm by 129mm. The reverse of the note will have a picture of the Ellora Caves, showcasing India’s cultural heritage.

What will be in the note?: 20 is printed in a floral design on the front and back. 20 will be written in Devanagari script. RBI, Bharat, India and 20 will be written in small letters on the note. It will also include the image of Mahatma Gandhi, Ashoka Pillar, Swachh Bharat logo and language panel. The front side will also have the signature of the RBI Governor, guarantee clause and RBI logo, which makes it official and secure.

Will old Rs 20 notes be discontinued? : No. RBI has clarified that all old Rs 20 notes will remain valid. This means that you can use them as before. The introduction of new notes will not stop the circulation of old notes.

What is the objective of RBI? The objective of RBI behind this step is that people get better quality and secure notes. The new notes will have better security features, which will reduce the risk of counterfeit notes. Along with this, efforts are also being made to promote the culture of India.

The post New Rs 20 notes to be issued soon, RBI’s big decision first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

RBI On 100-200 Rupee Notes: The Reserve Bank of India has directed all the banks and white label ATM operators of the country to increase the availability of 100 and 200 rupee denomination notes in their ATMs.

When you go to withdraw money from a bank ATM, it is often seen that small value notes are not dispensed from the ATM and you have to withdraw 500 rupee notes, but now the Reserve Bank of India has taken a big decision on this problem and has given instructions to the banks (RBI to Banks) to ensure that 100 rupee and 200 rupee notes are also dispensed from the ATM.

It is necessary to increase the availability of 100-200 notes.

The central bank on Monday directed the banks that in order to increase the availability of these notes to the general public, it is necessary to ensure that ATMs dispense currency notes of this value in sufficient quantity. RBI has issued a circular in this regard and it has been said that banks and White Label ATM Operators (WLAO) will have to implement this instruction in a phased manner.

It is worth noting that ‘White Label ATMs’ work like the ATMs of government and private banks. These are installed by private or non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) instead of banks. With these, you can withdraw cash, check balance or use all the facilities that are available in other ATMs through debit card and credit card.

What is in RBI’s circular?

If we look at the circular of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), it says that this decision has been taken to increase the public’s access to these frequently used denomination bank notes. Under which, now all the banks and white label ATM operators of the country are required to ensure that their ATMs also dispense Rs 100 and Rs 200 notes on a regular basis.

It further states that by September 30, 2025, 75 percent of all ATMs (Automated Teller Machines) should dispense at least one cassette of Rs 100 or Rs 200 denomination bank notes. After this, in the next phase, by March 31, 2026, at least one cassette of 90 percent of ATMs should dispense at least one cassette of Rs 100 or Rs 200 denomination bank notes.

ATM will be expensive from May 1!

Let us also tell you here that under the rules changing in the country from May 1, 2025 (Rule Change From 1st May), the rules for cash withdrawal from ATM machines are also going to change. Actually, if any transaction is done from an ATM machine outside the home bank network, or balance is checked, then the user will have to pay more charges.

Let us tell you that at present, charges are applicable for using ATMs outside the home bank network and it is going to increase even more from May 1. This increase is part of the amendment approved by RBI based on the proposal of National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI).

According to the report, till now, if customers used to withdraw money from a bank ATM of another network instead of their home bank’s ATM, then they had to pay a charge of Rs 17 on every transaction, which will increase to Rs 19 from May 1. Apart from this, if you checked the balance from another bank’s ATM, then a charge of Rs 6 was levied on it, which will now be increased to Rs 7.

RBI Decision on UPI Payments: The Reserve Bank of India has allowed the operation of pre-sanctioned credit lines in banks through the Unified Payments Interface ie UPI.

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das made this announcement during the meeting of the Monitoring Policy Committee. After the RBI meeting on Thursday i.e. April 6, Governor Shaktikanta Das said that the scope of UPI will be increased by allowing the operation of pre-sanctioned credit lines in banks. This will encourage innovation and increase access to credit for customers. RBI will issue detailed information about this later.

UPI payment facility under pre-sanctioned credit line

Currently transfers are done through deposits in UPI bank accounts. Along with this, money transactions are also done under wallet and pre-paid. At the same time, payment has also been allowed through Rupay credit card and now it has been proposed to increase the scope of UPI with the help of operation of pre-sectioned credit line. In other words, under the credit line, the facility of financial payment will be provided from UPI network banks.

Easy access to credit

RBI said that under this it can help in the development of some unique products of India. Along with this, its costs will also come down. RBI said that detailed guidelines will be issued later. Experts believe that this will make it easier for customers to access credit. Along with this, innovation and development will also be encouraged.

No change in repo rate

The Reserve Bank of India did not increase the repo rate in the first monetary policy meeting before the financial year 2024, which means that people have got relief from expensive loans. At the same time, from expanding the scope of UPI to unclaim portal and message alerts for CIBIL score, facilities have been introduced.
