The Safety: Your cash does not disappear or become state property over time.

A lot of bank savings sit unused today. And first the central bank tracks these old funds closely. So now users can trace their lost cash easily. After that rules state that the money stays yours forever. Plus special tools make the search very fast now. Meanwhile local branches handle the real payout steps. So this fresh setup helps thousands of families look for old wealth.

Accounts change status after two years of zero use. And first local desks label the file as quiet. Plus they block online app access for safety reasons. Then note that this step stops identity fraud entirely. So your savings stay safe from bad outer hacks. Meanwhile the cash shifts to a main central pool after ten full years. So you just need to clear basic checks to get it back.

The path to get your cash back is very clear. And first users must visit the central tracking site online. Next enter your main personal facts into the search box. Then look for your old account on the screen. So the portal displays matching bank names instantly. Meanwhile you can note down the old branch code. Plus this step starts your main recovery path.

Meanwhile keeping your active files moving prevents these issues entirely. Plus one small deal a year keeps your bank line open.

1. The ₹15,000 Limit: No More OTP for Small Bills

Now you no longer have to wait for an SMS code for your basic monthly expenses. Actually, the RBI has raised the “frictionless” limit to ₹15,000 for most regular payments.

Now the RBI has made it much harder for merchants to take money without your knowledge. Actually, banks must now send you clear alerts both before and after every debit.

Pre and Post-Debit Rules

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What if my insurance premium is ₹25,000?

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a new plan to update the Kisan Credit Card (KCC). Specifically, these changes aim to help farmers get more money and more time to pay it back. Therefore, it is important for all cardholders to understand these new rules. Currently, the RBI is asking the public for feedback on these ideas until March 6, 2026.

1. Longer Loan Tenure

The most significant change is the extension of the loan period. Specifically, the RBI wants to increase the KCC tenure to six years. Previously, the validity was shorter. Therefore, this change gives farmers more breathing space to manage their debts. Actually, a longer term helps reduce the stress of repaying loans during a bad harvest year.

2. Standard Crop Cycles

The RBI also wants to fix how we define crop seasons. Specifically, it proposes a 12-month cycle for short crops like wheat. Meanwhile, long crops like sugarcane will get an 18-month cycle. Therefore, every bank in India will follow the same timing for loan repayments. In fact, this move brings much-needed uniformity to the rural banking system.

3. Credit Linked to Actual Costs

Under the new rules, loan limits will match the real cost of farming. Specifically, banks must look at the current price of seeds and labor in your area. Therefore, you will get enough cash to cover your full costs instead of an outdated fixed amount. Now, this ensures that farmers do not have to borrow from private moneylenders at high rates.

4. Loans for New Technology

Finally, the RBI is adding tech-related costs to the KCC scheme. Specifically, you can now use your loan for soil testing and weather alerts. Also, the cost of getting organic farming certificates is now covered. Therefore, you can use modern tools to grow better crops without paying from your own pocket. Actually, these expenses fit within the existing 20% limit for farm maintenance.

Quick Summary of Proposed Changes

RBI Sets July 1 Deadline to Ban Bank Mis-selling

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued draft rules Wednesday to protect customers from aggressive sales tactics. Specifically, the “Responsible Business Conduct” directions target unwanted calls and forced product bundles. Therefore, banks must now overhaul their marketing plans before the July 1 implementation date.

Full Refunds for Proven Mis-selling

Meanwhile, the central bank has introduced a mandatory 100% refund policy. If a bank sells an unsuitable product, it must return the full amount to the customer. Since the new rules prioritize suitability, a signed document is no longer a valid defense for the bank. Actually, the RBI stated that a sale is “mis-selling” if it does not match a user’s age or income. Still, banks must also pay for any financial loss the customer faced during the deal.

End to Unwanted Sales Calls

Since telemarketing has caused rising public anger, the RBI has fixed strict calling hours. Banks and their agents can now only call customers between 9 am and 6 pm. Now, calls outside this window require explicit, recorded consent from the user. In fact, banks must also stop using “dark patterns” in their apps. These are deceptive designs that trick users into clicking “buy” by mistake. Therefore, banks must audit their digital tools every six months to find these traps.

Ban on Third-Party Incentives

Meanwhile, the RBI plans to cut the link between sales targets and staff pay. Since many workers “push” products for cash perks, the draft bars direct incentives from third parties like insurers. Then, the bank must stop holding internal contests that reward staff for hit-and-run sales. Actually, the regulator wants banks to act as helpful guides rather than aggressive brokers. Therefore, any bundling of loans with insurance is now strictly prohibited.

Data Density: The 2026 Mis-selling Benchmarks

The RBI draft listed several specific metrics for the new regulatory framework:

July 1: The launch date for the new “Responsible Business Conduct” rules.

What’s Next First, the public has until March 4 to send comments to the central bank. Then, the RBI will release the final rules by the end of April. Since the July 1 launch is near, banks must start training their staff on “suitability checks” immediately, officials said.
