Special agreement between the state government and SBI

An MoU has been signed between the Jharkhand government and the State Bank of India (SBI) for an important agreement. This MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, where Finance Department’s Special Secretary Rajeshwari B. and SBI’s Deputy General Manager Devesh Mittal signed it.

Under this, government employees will not only get accidental insurance but also health insurance and life insurance facilities. The most important thing is that employees will not have to pay any extra money for all these facilities. That is, it will be completely free.

70 thousand policemen are already getting benefits

KV Bangaraju, Chief General Manager of Jharkhand-Bihar Circle of SBI, said that out of 1.75 lakh government employees in the state, about 70,000 policemen are already getting these benefits. Now this new facility is being given to the remaining 1.05 lakh employees as well.

Financial security of employees will be strengthened – Hemant Soren

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that government employees play an important role in the development of the state. Therefore, the government is trying to provide them a safe and respectful environment so that they can do their work wholeheartedly. He said that this new initiative will further strengthen the financial security of the employees.

Currently, SBI has 580 branches, 1,260 ATMs and about 2,600 customer service points (CSP) working in Jharkhand. This means that SBI has access to every corner of the state, so government employees will not face any problem in taking advantage of these facilities.

In a bid to increase the reach of its digital banking applications, State Bank of India (SBI) recently allowed any bank customer to make United Payments Interface (UPI) payments using its YONO app. This essentially means that you no longer need an SBI bank account to use the UPI features on the YONO mobile app. The public sector bank said in a press release, “With ‘YONO’ for every Indian, any bank customer will now have access to UPI features like Scan & Pay, Pay by Contact and Request Money in the new avatar of YONO.”

How does it work

SBI YONO Mobile Banking App is available on both Google Play Store and iPhone App Store. The onboarding process is very simple for non-SBI account holders. Once you download this app, there will be an option of ‘New to SBI’. Just below it is the ‘Register Now’ option. Non-SBI account holders can click on ‘Register Now’.

On the next page, you will see the option of ‘Register to Make UPI Payments’. Note that your phone number should be linked with your bank account number to use this facility. In the next step, you have to select the SIM which is registered with your bank account. To verify your number, an SMS will be sent from the selected mobile number. The bank says that standard charges will be applicable for this message.

What to do after registration starts

Once your number is verified, you need to select your bank to generate the UPI ID. You can either type your bank name or select the bank from the list. Now you will get a message in which it will be written that your registration for SBI Pay has started. If it is not you, please report to your bank immediately.

You can see your bank account number on the top of your screen. Now you have to create an SBI UPI handle. SBI will provide you three UPI ID options out of which you can select one.

Once you select a UPI ID, you will get a message that reads, “You have successfully created an SBI UPI handle.” You can see the UPI handle selected by you on the screen.

How to set MPIN

You need to set up an MPIN to login to your account and start making payments. In the next step, you need to set a six digit Permanent MPIN of your choice to login to your account. You must ensure that the MPIN must be six digits long. The bank has also given some instructions on how you select the numbers to set the MPIN. Read it carefully and set your MPIN.
