New Delhi. Cyber fraud has become a headache for the whole world. India is also not untouched by it. Cases of cyber fraud have increased in the last few days. In such a situation, the government is taking several measures to deal with this issue.

The government has directed all telecom operators across the country to first register the person who issued the SIM card to the customer. Although this directive is not new, the deadline for its compliance has been extended to March 31, 2025.

Through this move, the government wants to tighten the rules for issuing new SIM cards, so as to help tackle cyber fraud. Apart from this, the government is planning to take action against those who have more than 9 SIM cards registered in their name. As per the rules, a person can issue a maximum of 9 SIM cards in his name.

What are the new rules?

According to the new rules, telecom companies will have to register their agents, franchisees and SIM card distributors. If they do not do so, they will not be able to sell SIM cards from April 1. The new rule has added an extra layer of transparency and security to the SIM issuance process. So far, private telecom operators like Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel have completed their registration, while Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is lagging behind in this regard.

Government gives time to help BSNL

Many distributors of BSNL have not registered yet. In such a situation, to help BSNL, the government has given them two more months to register SIM dealers. From April 1, 2025, only registered SIM card distributors will be able to sell SIMs to customers.

New Delhi. If you are also troubled by the fact that you have to recharge expensively again and again, then there is good news for you. Now your SIM card will not be closed even if you do not recharge.

This is good news for those who have more than one SIM card. Now the SIM card will continue to work for 90 days even if you do not recharge. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued new rules regarding the validity of SIM cards. After the new rules come, users will get freedom from the hassle of recharging again and again and will spend less.

If there is no recharge on your number for 90 days and there is a prepaid balance of Rs 20 left in it, then the company will deduct Rs 20 and give an extra validity of 30 days. In this way, your number can remain active for 120 days without recharge.

What are the companies offering?

Airtel: Without recharge, the SIM card will remain active for more than 90 days. After this, you will get 15 days to re-activate the number. If you do not recharge even after this, the SIM card will be deactivated.

Vodafone-Idea: You can use the SIM card for 90 days without recharge. After this you will have to recharge at least Rs 49.

BSNL: BSNL SIM card will remain active for 180 days without recharge.

Jio: If you have a Jio number, it will remain active for 90 days without recharge. During this time, the facility of incoming calls may be for a month, a week or a few days depending on the last recharge plan.

BSNL has partnered with Viasat to introduce D2D technology that allows users to make audio and video calls without a SIM card or traditional network. This technology provides connectivity on Android, iOS, smartwatches and even in remote areas.

BSNL is continuously working on new technology. Recently, BSNL has joined hands with Viasat. D2D technology has also been given the green signal by the company. This technology gives users the green signal for audio and video calling without the help of SIM card or traditional network. The new technology can be used with Android and iOS smartphones. It can also be used on smart devices and smartwatches.

Connectivity is available even in remote areas. The special thing is that you will not have to face network outage. If we believe Viasat, then it is known that D2D proves to be a completely different technology. Because with its help you can connect mobile phones, smartwatches and cars directly to the satellite network. With the help of this device, you can easily connect both personal and device. That is, you do not need to wait for the location. You are also given very good coverage. Communication is also very good.

Challenge to Elon Musk-

There has been a discussion about satellite network for a long time. Elon Musk’s company SpaceX is working on it rapidly. Musk is currently eyeing the Indian market, but BSNL is now preparing its own network. This is also going to be like a satellite network. Its testing work has also been completed. After testing, it has also been given the green signal. At the same time, every company is also focusing on this technology. Very soon Elon Musk can also enter the Indian market.

The rules for buying SIM cards have changed. Now users do not have to worry much about buying a new SIM card of Airtel, Jio, BSNL or Vodafone-Idea. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has now made it completely paperless.

If you are now planning to buy a new SIM card or are thinking of changing the operator, then you will no longer have to visit the offices of telecom companies. You will be able to verify the documents required for your SIM card yourself.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has announced the new rules for SIM cards from its official X handle. Also, users have been asked to keep some things in mind before buying a new SIM card. This new rule of the Department of Telecommunications is to prevent fraud with the personal documents of users. Also, it will be to implement a completely paperless system under Digital India.

New rule of SIM Card

The Department of Telecommunications said in its post that while carrying out a major telecom reform, now e-KYC (Know Your Customer) as well as self KYC has been introduced for the users.

Users will not have to go to telecom operators to change their number from prepaid to postpaid. Users will now be able to avail the service based on OTP i.e. one time password for this.

You will be able to buy a new SIM card without sharing any photocopy or document.

This completely digital process of the Department of Telecommunications will prevent misuse of the users’ documents. Now fake SIMs cannot be issued in anyone’s name.

Heavy rain is expected in these six states for the next 2 days, winds will blow at a speed of 70KM/H

What is Aadhaar based e-KYC and self-KYC?

DoT has introduced the facility of Aadhaar based e-KYC, Self KYC and OTP based service switch in KYC reform. Users will now be able to use only Aadhaar card to buy a new SIM card. Telecom companies will use the Aadhaar based paperless verification feature to verify the users’ documents. This will cost only Rs 1 (with GST).

Not only this, the Department of Telecommunications has also started the facility of Self KYC for users to verify their KYC online. Users will be able to verify their KYC themselves using DigiLocker. If a user wants to switch his number from prepaid to postpaid or from postpaid to prepaid, then he will not have to go to the telecom operator’s office. He will be able to switch the connection through OTP based verification process.

There is no need to go anywhere to buy a BSNL SIM now. Now the company is providing SIM to its customers at home. Actually, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has started delivering SIM cards to the homes of its customers.

But this service is not available across the country. Initially, BSNL is doing home delivery of SIM cards only in Gurugram and Ghaziabad. This is currently for prepaid connections, and you can order a SIM for yourself by visiting this web page – https://prune.co.in/mno-bsnl/.

BSNL has partnered with Prune to provide SIM cards to its customers. However, private telecom operators are already providing this facility to their customers but the good thing is that now BSNL has also started it. You can choose one of the BSNL plans and then place an order, for this you can also download the Prune app on Google Play Store.

To order, you have to enter your personal details like phone number and delivery address. After that, the SIM will be delivered to the customer’s home. Remember that this facility has currently been started in Gurugram or Ghaziabad, if you also live here then you can experience this service of the company.

Will SIM delivery help BSNL add new customers?

For the last several years, BSNL has been losing its customers every quarter. This is not because the telecom company does not provide SIM to the customers, but it is because of the network services. First of all, BSNL has to ensure that it deploys 4G network in every corner of the country to compete with private telecom companies.

After that, SIM delivery at home and other things will make a big difference. BSNL’s mobile services revenue declined in FY24 due to continuous customer loss. If the telco does not set up a high-speed network in the coming time, then the coming time will be difficult for BSNL.

Sim Card New Rules: It is very important for mobile users to know that new rules related to SIM cards are going to be implemented from July 1. These rules are very important…

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued some rules related to SIM cards for mobile users, which will be implemented across the country from July 1 this year.

The reason behind implementing new rules of TRAI is to prevent online fraud. Due to this, common mobile users may have to face some problems.

According to TRAI, mobile users who have swapped their SIM cards will not be able to port their phone numbers.

TRAI says that this step has been taken in order to prevent incidents of fraud. Its purpose is to prevent fraudsters from porting the mobile connection immediately by swapping SIMs.

Nowadays, cases of fraud regarding SIM swapping are continuously increasing. In this fraud, people easily get photographs of PAN card and Aadhar card and get a new SIM card issued on the pretext of losing their mobile.

After this, the OTP that comes on your mobile number reaches the people committing fraud, due to which they use it for fraud.

Mobile Connection Rules: The Telecom Ministry has changed the rules for purchasing a new mobile connection from January 1, 2024. With this, it has now become easier for customers to buy a new SIM card.

To promote digitalization in the country, the Department of Telecommunications (Telecom Ministry) has informed that now there will be a complete ban on paper based KYC for getting a new SIM card. In such a situation, now customers will have to submit only digital or e-KYC to get a new SIM card.

DoT issued notification-

The Telecom Department of the Ministry of Communications has issued a notification on Tuesday informing that there are going to be major changes in the rules for purchasing SIM cards from the new year i.e. January 1, 2024. Now any customer will be required to do e-KYC to get a SIM card and now paper based KYC will be completely stopped.

Apart from this, it has also been told that the rest of the rules for getting a new mobile connection are going to remain the same and no changes have been made in it. It is worth noting that earlier to get a SIM card, you could do paper based KYC along with e-KYC, but now it will be completely stopped from January 1.

There has been a change in the rules of SIM card from December 1, 2023

Before this, the Telecom Ministry has changed another rule related to SIM card. By changing the rules, the Central Government has implemented the rule of issuing limited number of SIMs on one ID from December 1. Before getting a SIM card, it is necessary to complete the KYC process and now along with the SIM buyer, the SIM seller will also be registered. If a person buys multiple SIM cards at once, he can buy it only through a commercial connection.

From opening a bank account to getting a SIM card or getting a gas connection etc.

Aadhaar is needed almost everywhere. Apart from identity card, it also works as address proof. Actually, Aadhar card also contains the name, age, father’s name and address of the cardholder. But many times people want to change their address due to change of residence or because the wrong residence address is printed on Aadhaar.

If for some reason you also want to change the address printed on your Aadhaar, then you can do this work sitting at home. In the next slides, you can know the simple way of doing this…

How to update address in Aadhaar:-

Step 1

If the address in your Aadhaar card is wrongly printed or you have taken a new house, then in such a situation you can get the new address updated in your Aadhaar.

For this you have to go to the official website of UIDAI, uidai.gov.in.

By going here you have to go to the ‘My Aadhaar’ section

Step 2

After going to this section, you have to click on the option of ‘Update my Aadhaar’.

Then you have to enter your aadhaar number and mobile number

Now an OTP will come on your mobile number, enter it

Then you will get a new link, click on it

step 3

After this a new page will open and click on the thing you want to update.

Like- Click on the address

From here, apart from your address, you can also update your name, date of birth, mobile number or photo in your Aadhaar.

Step 4

Then you have to scan and upload the required document to update the address.

After this fill the captcha code and click on ‘Send OTP’

Then enter the OTP and click on update.

Then you have to pay through online mode, after which your new address gets updated in Aadhaar within some time.

Online Fraud: Online fraud has become a major problem across the country. Most of the sims are used in such online frauds. Most of the fraudsters use new SIM every time. This is the reason why the government is planning to limit the number of SIM cards. As of now only 9 SIM cards can be issued on one ID. However, the government wants to reduce it from 9 to 4. Means, if this happens then people will be able to take only 4 SIMs on one ID. By doing this, online fraud can also be avoided.

People will get 4 SIMs on one ID – Government is planning

According to media reports, Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav is considering limiting the number of SIM cards to four on one ID. The government has also approved the guidelines on the plan to limit SIM cards. These guidelines can soon come among the general public. Not only this, the government is also considering making the process of verification for SIM online. This will also help in preventing online fraud.

Now only this much sim will be available

With a new service by the government, it will also be known that how many SIM cards can be issued on your ID or how many have been issued. This service is available on Saathi portal. If you want to know whether you have got a fraud sim, then you will also get its information on this portal. You can then block that number. This service has been started to protect people from online fraud.

Government took these steps

You get unwanted calls from time to time. In which unwanted loans, home loans, credit cards or other types of offers are available. This annoys you. There is resentment. So now the government is gearing up to save you from unnecessary calls. The government has made many rules in this direction.

The post SIM card New Rules: Government will bring new rules regarding SIM card, these plans are being made to stop fraud first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

In today’s era everyone has mobile and there is also a sim card to use in mobile. Each SIM card has its own unique number and in India this number is of 10 digits.

However, now some of these 10 digit numbers are going to be closed. Some people will have to face problems for this. At the same time, the government is asking to stop these numbers.

Mobile number

Actually, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has come up with a new rule. According to some media reports, telemarketing companies may be shocked by this rule of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

TRAI’s new rule says that unregistered numbers of telemarketing companies will be closed in 7 days. In such a situation, those telemarketing companies which use unregistered 10 digit mobile numbers for promotion will be banned.

Telecom

Tell us that on behalf of telecom companies, different mobile numbers are issued to telemarketing companies in the business category. This is done so that the difference between the normal number and the promotional number can be made and the general public can know about it. In such a situation, people will also know that which number is promotional.

Telemarketing

Although at present many such cases have been seen in which common numbers are used for promotion by many telemarketing companies. In such a situation, TRAI is taking strict steps on these numbers, so that telemarketing companies do not forcefully call or message the general public. TRAI has now directed telemarketing companies not to make call-messages from such common numbers and to discontinue them.

The post Government brought a big rule, now these 10 digit numbers will be closed, Details Here first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.
