According to the Times of India, preparations are being made to run sleeper Vande Bharat trains on many other routes along with the Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru route. The government is also planning to run it on new routes like Thiruvananthapuram-Bengaluru and Kanyakumari-Srinagar. This means that soon the South may get many sleeper Vande Bharat trains, which will benefit millions of passengers.

These trains have been designed by Integral Coach Factory, while Bharat Earth Movers Limited has led its manufacturing. This will be an AC train with 16 coaches, in which 1128 passengers will be able to travel at a time. It is believed that this train will run on such routes, which will take at least seven to eight hours or the whole night, so that the passenger can travel comfortably while sleeping and reach the destination in the morning.

Launch of Srinagar Vande Bharat postponed

Meanwhile, the launch of the Vande Bharat train running between Katra in Jammu and Srinagar has been postponed. Actually, PM Modi was to flag it off on April 19, but due to adverse weather, the Prime Minister’s visit was postponed. Now a new date will be announced soon.

Apart from this, the program of inauguration of Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Rail Project (USBRL) in Jammu and Kashmir has also been postponed due to bad weather. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to inaugurate the world’s highest Chenab Rail Bridge and Anji Khad Rail Bridge on April 19 and flag off the special Kashmir version of Vande Bharat Express from Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra to Srinagar.

For this, the Prime Minister was scheduled to go to Chenab Rail Bridge and then Anji Khad Bridge and two helipads were built for this. Sources said that the new date of the inauguration program is likely to be decided in the last week of April or early May.
