Yes, soon the operations of all the flights operating from IGI Airport will be limited to two terminals. In this, most of the domestic terminals will be operated from Terminal One and the international flights will be operated from Terminal Three.

According to Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), a decision has been taken to fully open Terminal 1 for flight operations. As per the planning, Terminal One will be fully opened for flight operations from April 15. Also, all flights operating from Terminal-2 will also be shifted to Terminal 1. Currently, around 270-280 flights operate from Terminal-2 and more than 46,000 people depart for their air journey from this terminal every day.

Terminal-2 will be closed from April 15

According to Dial, currently flights of Akasa Air and Indigo Airlines are being operated from Terminal One. All these flights will operate from Terminal-1 from April 15, 2025. Dial has informed the concerned airlines about this change and they have been asked to shift the flights as per the planning and inform the passengers.

Capacity of 100 million passengers

Delhi Airport will be the first airport in India whose annual passenger capacity will be more than 100 million. In this, about 40 million passengers will be able to travel from Terminal-1, 15 million from Terminal-2 and 45 million from Terminal-3 annually. Along with this, Delhi’s IGI Airport will also become Asia’s first ‘Net Zero Carbon Emission Airport’.
