Giving information about this, Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said that 15,843 regular employees working in the Transport Corporation will get the benefit of this.

There will be an additional burden of Rs 5 crore on UPSRTC

The Transport Minister said that this increase will put an additional burden of Rs 5 crore on UPSRTC. He said that the Board of Directors has approved 4 percent dearness allowance. It is under consideration at the government level. When the dearness allowance increases from 46 to 50 percent, the retiring employees will be able to get gratuity up to Rs 25 lakh instead of the maximum limit of Rs 20 lakh. He said that due to the increase in dearness allowance, the employees will work with new zeal and enthusiasm, which will benefit the Transport Corporation.

Appeal to private companies to use CSR funds

Meanwhile, UPSRTC MD Masood Ali Sarwar has requested private companies to use their CSR funds for passenger facilities during Maha Kumbh 2025. The proposed facilities include water ATMs, themed gates, enquiry displays, benches, microphones, blankets, dustbins and signage at permanent bus stops. This proposal has been sent to SBI, HDFC, PNB, Kotak Mahindra, Indian Oil and Central Bank etc.

Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of State for Transport with independent charge Dayashankar Singh told in a special conversation with Local 18 that it has been decided to reduce the fares of AC buses by 10 percent in winter. The revised fare rates will be applicable from 16 December 2023 to 28 February 2024.

The Minister of State also said that it is being considered to reduce the fares of all buses including AC buses, so that there is not much impact on the pockets of the passengers and they can reach their destination cheaply.

There is a large number of passengers traveling by AC buses in Uttar Pradesh. Be it summer or winter, many people prefer to travel by AC buses. However, one has to pay a hefty amount to travel in AC buses.

The Minister of State for Transport said that the reduction in the fares of AC buses will continue in future also. Currently, consideration is being given to reducing the fares of all other buses, which can range from 5 to 10 percent.

At present, the buses whose fares have been reduced include AC Janrath, Volvo and Sleeper as well as AC buses going from Lucknow to Delhi.
