There is a possibility of thunder and lightning in Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Lucknow, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar and Baghpat. There is also a possibility of thunder and lightning in Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kasganj, Etah, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Bijnor.

There are chances of thunder and lightning in Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Badaun, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur and its surrounding areas. The Meteorological Department said that due to the effect of the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal, the eastern end of the monsoon trough has shifted southwards from its normal position. Due to its possible path and favorable weather conditions, monsoon activities will intensify in Uttar Pradesh during the next 48 hours.

During this period, most parts of the state are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall with heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places. In view of the situation, an orange alert has been issued in some districts of the northern part of the state.
