UPI New Rules: If you use PhonePe, Paytm and Google Pay everywhere, then you must read this news. Because, from August 1, i.e. today, new rules of UPI have been implemented.

NPCI has imposed a limit on many facilities. Due to which now you will not be able to check your account balance again and again. Apart from this, limits are going to be imposed on many other features. Know in details.

The month of August has started today and from today your way of using UPI is also going to change. Yes, from August 1, NPCI has made some changes to reduce the extra load on the UPI system and to speed up UPI transactions. In such a situation, if you also depend on Google Pay, PhonePe and PayTm for every small payment, then it is important that you know the new rules.

These changes are going to happen

Balance Check Limit

Till now UPI users could check their bank balance as many times as they wanted in a day. But now this will not happen from August 1. NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) has now set a limit for this as well. Now users will be able to check their bank balance only 50 times in a day. This rule is being implemented so that there is no excessive load on the UPI system at the time of need.

Linked account listing also restricted

Under the new UPI rule, now you will be able to see the information of your UPI linked bank accounts only 25 times a day in each app (Google Pay, PhonePe or PayTm).

Autopay will now be processed on time

Nowadays, for everything from recharge to electricity bill or any kind of payment (Netflix, Amazon Prime or SIP installments), users keep Auto Pay mode set in UPI. So that they do not have to open the app again and again to make payment and the payment gets done automatically. But now a limit has been fixed on this as well. From today, Auto Pay transactions through UPI will also happen at a fixed time only. As such, from today, Auto Pay transactions will happen only before 10 am and from 1 pm to 5 pm. Because, the time from 10 am to 1 pm and then from 5 pm to 9:30 pm has been included in the peak hours.

Limit also applies to payment status checks

Often, after making a payment, users check the status again and again to see if the money has been transferred or not. But now NPCI has put a limit on this as well. Now users will be able to check the payment status only 3 times in a day, and that too with a gap of 90 seconds.

Limit on payment reversal

NPCI has now set a limit for payment reversal i.e. getting the payment back. Under the new rule, now users can request for payment refund only 10 times in a month. Apart from this, a user can ask for payment reversal only 5 times from a single person or company.

The post UPI New Rules: NPCI Has Imposed Limits on Many Facilities, New rules Implemented From Today first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

UPI New Rules: Today, from April 1, the rules of UPI payment have changed. According to the guidelines of NPCI, if an inactive mobile number is linked to your bank account, then the UPI transaction may fail.

Update your active number as soon as possible for safe transactions, otherwise there may be trouble in payment

If you make UPI payments through apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, then this news is very important for you. New rules have come into effect from April 1, 2024, under which the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has instructed to remove all those mobile numbers from the bank account which are inactive for a long time. The purpose of this move of NPCI is to prevent cyber fraud and cheating, because many times inactive mobile numbers are re-issued by telecom companies, which increases the possibility of fake transactions.

If your bank account also has an old or inactive mobile number linked to it, then update it as soon as possible. Otherwise, you may face problems in making UPI payments, such as transaction failure or money reaching the wrong account

Why did NPCI take this decision ?

In view of the rapidly increasing cases of cyber fraud and online fraud, NPCI has issued new guidelines. They say that mobile numbers which are not being used for a long time or are completely closed, need to be removed from the banking and UPI system. Technical problems are also being caused due to inactive numbers, which can affect UPI transactions. Apart from this, if telecom companies re-issue these numbers to another user, then cyber criminals can use them for fraud. For this reason, NPCI has instructed banks and payment apps to remove these numbers from the system.

Why does mobile number play an important role in UPI ?

Your mobile number is your identity for UPI payments. Whenever you send money to someone, the transaction is confirmed through this number. If your mobile number has become inactive or has been issued to someone else, then—

Payment may fail

Money may reach the wrong account

The risk of fraud may increase

Therefore, it is important that the same mobile number which you have in active status should be linked to your bank account.

What should I do now ?

If an old or long-inactive number is linked to your bank account, check it as soon as possible.

First of all, contact your telecom service provider (Jio, Airtel, Vi, BSNL) and confirm whether your number is still active in your name or not. If the number is closed, activate it immediately by recharging it or go to the bank and get your mobile number updated.

NPCI has directed banks and UPI apps to update the list of inactive numbers every week, so that all such numbers are removed from the banking system after April 1.

If you want to make UPI payments without any interruption, then update your mobile number in time so that there is no problem later.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has made new rules to make UPI transactions safer and better, which will come into effect from April 1, 2025.

These changes have been made to make UPI more secure and prevent fraudulent transactions. From April 1, 2025, such Paytm, Google Pay, PhonePe and bank accounts with linked mobile numbers that are not active are being closed. Along with this, Bharat Interface for Money i.e. BHIM app is going to launch its upgraded version in April. With BHIM 3.0, you will get the benefit of five new features.

1. Checking the mobile number

Banks and apps like Paytm, Google Pay, PhonePe will now have to update the “Mobile Number Revocation List” (MNRL/DIP) every week. This will reduce errors related to old or given numbers to someone else. If a mobile number is not used for 3 months (no calls, messages or data), then telecom companies give it to someone else. UPI IDs associated with such numbers will be deactivated. Users will have to keep the mobile number registered with their bank active.

2. Ban on “Collect Payment”

Collect Payment (sending a request to ask for money) on UPI will now be available only to large and verified merchants. The limit for Collect Payment among the general public has been set at ₹2,000 per transaction. This step has been taken to reduce fraud.

Keep these things in mind: If your mobile number has changed or has not been used for a long time, update it quickly in your bank and UPI apps. You will not be able to use Collect Request to make payments above ₹2,000. Instead, make a direct payment or pay the merchant.

New features to be added to BHIM app from April

Bharat Interface for Money i.e. BHIM app is going to launch its upgraded version in April. With BHIM 3.0, you will get the benefit of five new features. NPCI BHIM Services, fully controlled by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), launched a new upgrade of BHIM UPI on Tuesday. BHIM 3.0 will be available in more than 15 languages of the country. It is worth noting that the BHIM app is working on 22.6 crore Android phones and 88 lakh iOS platforms. At present, the number of UPI users in the country is around 30-40 crore.

The third version of the BHIM app comes with features like family mode to manage payments, the ability to work even in areas with weak internet connectivity, and a more user-friendly user interface (UI). This application will give users a completely new experience. Not only this, with BHIM 3.0, you can also monitor your monthly expenses by going to the dashboard, which will make it easy to know where and how much you are spending. This app will categorize all the expenses you make into different categories.

With BHIM 3.0, BHIM service has been launched for merchants. With the help of this, merchants will be able to make payments within the app and they will not need to go to any other app. According to NPCI, all these changes made in BHIM will be gradually introduced on all platforms. The company has also introduced ‘BHIM Vishwas’ scheme. It is currently under discussion for launch. BHIM has partnered with Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Karnataka Bank and Union Bank for its upcoming schemes.

The government has increased the limit of UPI payments to Rs 5 lakh per year. This decision has been taken in the context of capital market, collection, insurance and foreign remittance.

Earlier the limit was 1 lakh, now it has been increased to 2 lakh rupees per day. The limit has also been increased for tax payments.

If you make UPI payment, then today we are going to give you information about some things. With the help of this, it will be easier for you to make payment. But in this sequence, new decisions have been taken by the government. The government has taken a decision regarding UPI. Along with this, users have also been asked to stay safe. Today we will also tell you the update. Along with this, we will also give information about the new decision of the government-

Talking about UPI payments, the government has increased its limit to Rs 5 lakh per year. Earlier also the UPI limit was increased, but now this decision has been taken in the context of capital market, collection, insurance and foreign remittance. Earlier its limit was 1 lakh, but now it has been increased to 2 lakh rupees per day. NPCI informed that keeping in mind the tax payments, it has been decided to increase the limit of making these payments to Rs 5 lakh.

In such a situation, the limit for tax payments, hospitals and educational institutions, IPO and RBI retail has been increased. This is the reason why the limit per transaction has been increased to Rs 5 lakh.

Be cautious during UPI-

For online payments including UPI, an X account named Cyber Dog has been created by the government. In this, users are given information related to online transactions. It was said in this that you should take care of everything before making payment. These days scams are going on rapidly, in which users are asked to enter UPI code in exchange for receiving payment, but this is a type of scam. In such a situation, you should take great care of everything while making payment.

NPCI New Guidelines: A very important news has come regarding your UPI ID. All banks and third party apps like PhonePe and Google Pay are going to close inactive UPI IDs.

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has directed all banks and third party apps to block those IDs in which no transaction has been done for one year. For this, NPCI has given time till 31st December. Therefore, in any case, activate your UPI ID before this date. The bank will also send a notification to the users through email or message before deactivating the UPI ID. With this step of NPCI, UPI transactions will become more secure than before. Besides, wrong transactions will also be stopped.

What does the new guideline say?

According to the new guidelines of NPCI, all third party apps and PSP banks will verify the UPI ID and the mobile number associated with it of inactive customers. If any kind of credit or debit has not been done from this ID for one year, then it will be closed.

From the new year, customers will not be able to transact with these IDs. NPCI has given time till December 31 to banks and third party apps to identify such UPI IDs. Through these new guidelines, NPCI wants to ensure that money is not transferred to the wrong person nor is it misused. Many such cases have come to light in recent times.

Difficulty comes with changing mobile number

Many times people change their mobile number and forget to deactivate the UPI ID associated with it. Due to the number being switched off for several days, it gets accessed by someone else. But, only the old UPI ID remains linked to this number. In such a situation, the possibility of wrong transaction increases manifold.

The post UPI New Rules: Your UPI ID may be closed!
