Till now, the employees of UPSRTC used to get 38 percent dearness allowance. But after this increase, it has increased to 46 percent. Giving information about this, Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said that 15,843 regular employees working in the Transport Corporation will get the benefit of this.

There will be an additional burden of Rs 5 crore on UPSRTC

The Transport Minister said that this increase will put an additional burden of Rs 5 crore on UPSRTC. He said that the Board of Directors has approved 4 percent dearness allowance. It is under consideration at the government level. When the dearness allowance increases from 46 to 50 percent, the retiring employees will be able to get gratuity up to Rs 25 lakh instead of the maximum limit of Rs 20 lakh. He said that due to the increase in dearness allowance, the employees will work with new zeal and enthusiasm, which will benefit the Transport Corporation.

Appeal to private companies to use CSR funds

Meanwhile, UPSRTC MD Masood Ali Sarwar has requested private companies to use their CSR funds for passenger facilities during Maha Kumbh 2025. The proposed facilities include water ATMs, themed gates, enquiry displays, benches, microphones, blankets, dustbins and signage at permanent bus stops. This proposal has been sent to SBI, HDFC, PNB, Kotak Mahindra, Indian Oil and Central Bank etc.

The decision to increase dearness allowance

has been welcomed. The regular employees of the Transport Corporation have welcomed the decision to increase dearness allowance by 8%. Employee leaders said on this decision taken by the government that the Transport Corporation should pay attention to the problems of contract employees. Inflation is affecting all the employees. They said that the corporation needs to pay special attention to the contract employees. The Transport Corporation should also bring good schemes for them, so that they can live a better life.
