The Gujarat government has taken a new initiative to remove polluting vehicles from the roads. Now vehicle owners who get their vehicles scrapped will not only get a discount in vehicle tax, but the amount of the challan issued for violating traffic rules by the scrapped vehicle will also be waived off and any other fines imposed will also be waived off.

These concessions have been given for scrapping transport vehicles that are more than eight years old. Under this, the pending tax, penalty, interest and challan will be waived through the ‘Registration and Works of Vehicle Scrapping Facility’ (RVSF). The purpose of giving these concessions is to encourage vehicle owners to scrap polluting vehicles.

Circular issued

According to a report in Times of India, the Transport Department has issued four circulars related to this scheme. According to one of them, if a vehicle older than eight years is scrapped in RVSF, then any offence committed under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 will be adjusted. Apart from this, challans related to traffic rule violations like over speeding, red light jumping will be waived on submission of challan deposit certificate.

The tax exemption will be valid for one year.

The penalty, interest and tax exemption have been explained in detail in another circular. This tax exemption will be applicable for one year from May 1, 2025. The age of the vehicle will be determined from its first registration date and it will be applicable to all vehicles.

Who will benefit?

A senior official said that this scheme will mainly benefit transport vehicles. There is a lump sum tax for 15 years for private vehicles, while transport vehicles have to pay tax every year. If the vehicles on which this tax is due are scrapped, then the motor vehicle tax and the interest on it will also be waived.

Up to 15% and up to 25% discount

On providing ‘Certificate of Deposit’ of scrap vehicle, the person gets discount in registration fee while purchasing a new vehicle. This discount is up to 25% for private vehicles and 15% for commercial vehicles.

Now vehicle owners in Uttar Pradesh will not have to keep a bundle of papers like RC because the Yogi government has taken a big decision for this.

Vehicle owners will now get a smart card, which will have a chip. This chip will have all the information related to the vehicle. Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh announced this on Tuesday.

Smart card with micro chip instead of RC

Dayashankar Singh said that the Transport Corporation will now issue a smart card in place of the registration certificate. All kinds of data will be stored in the smart card with a micro chip. This card will work like a pen drive. It can be accessed easily. Checking will be easy. Digitization will stop corruption and fraud. This will get rid of paper RC.

Smart card RC will have two types of data

Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said that the smart card RC will have two types of data. He said that details like date of registration, name of the owner will be on the card, while the microchip will have all the details like challan, traffic violation, permit etc.

Smart card RC will provide relief from problems like paper getting wet, torn or lost. During traffic checking, complete information can be obtained by scanning the smart card. There will be no need to visit the RTO office. There were complaints of other irregularities related to the Registration Certificate (RC), which will now be curbed. The government plans to implement this initiative before Holi.

Advantages of Smart Card RC

No need to keep a bundle of papers

There will be no problem of RC getting wet, cut or torn

Smart card RC data will be stored in the micro chip

Corruption and fraud will be stopped

You will not have to visit the RTO office

Now you will not have to visit the RTO again and again for vehicle related documents. 9 works including duplicate permit have been made live. That means you can do your work by visiting the transport department’s site.

In UP, you will no longer have to visit the RTO for duplicate RC or DL replacement. To provide vehicle related facilities, nine services are being made live by the Transport Department through Aadhaar authentication. This will relieve vehicle owners from the hassle of running around. They will be able to avail various facilities sitting at home.

Transport Commissioner Chandra Bhushan Singh said on Monday that among these nine services, duplicate RC, special permit, RC details, duplicate permit, duplicate fitness certificate, duplicate DL, address change in DL, DL replacement and DL extract have been made live through Aadhaar authentication. Apart from this, the work of learner’s license, application for permanent registration, license and mobile number update from the vehicle is already being done through Aadhaar authentication.

The Transport Commissioner said that the benefits of these services can be availed through Aadhaar authentication. People will get facilities without coming to the transport office. Making these works faceless will be very convenient for the general public. Work is also being done to make other services provided by the Transport Department faceless. Soon, action will be taken to make other facilities also faceless using this system.

Where to apply

For duplicate RC or other works including special permit, you have to visit the transport department’s site https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/ . Here you have to enter your state after selecting the work. Fill in the requested details correctly.

After the implementation of One Vehicle One Fastag, now those people who have more than one Fastag, their Fastag will be deactivated immediately. Only one Fastag will remain active for such people.

If you also drive a car, then you must know about all the rules related to Fastag. It is necessary to have a Fastag sticker on every car running in India, if it is not installed then double toll tax is charged at the toll booth, and you may also have to wait for a long time. Now for the last few days, there is a lot of discussion about One Vehicle One Fastag, which has now been implemented across the country. Today we are going to tell you what it is and what effect it is going to have on the common people.

Actually, many such cases related to Fastag were coming to light, in which fraud was happening. Many people used to take Fastag in the name of others and use it, while some people had more than one Fastag. They used them as per their wish, many people used to put Fastag on the windshield just for show and kept the other Fastag with them. There was an attempt to use Jugaad at the toll and when the Jugaad did not work, then the Fastag was scanned manually. One Vehicle One Fastag has been introduced to deal with such cases.

Also Read: New Delhi Railway Station will be closed, trains will be shifted to these stations, see full list

Action taken after KYC

After the implementation of One Vehicle One Fastag, now those who have more than one Fastag, their Fastag will be deactivated immediately. Only one Fastag will remain active for such people. Because now Fastag KYC has become necessary and without it Fastag cannot be activated, in such a situation, if there are more than one Fastag, then the rest will be deactivated automatically after KYC is done.

Traffic Challan: We have to follow many rules while driving on the road. Often knowingly and unknowingly break the traffic rules. In such a situation, it should be remembered that these rules are not only for our safety but also for the safety of others.

At the same time, there are some rules like this. Which we need to follow responsibly as a citizen. One such rule is also on giving way to an ambulance while walking on the roads. Failure to give way to an ambulance can result in a fine of Rs 10,000.

Changes have been made in the new Motor Vehicle Act. Provision has been made for heavy challan on the drivers. In such a situation, even if you have license, registration papers and insurance while driving, but still a heavy fine of Rs 10,000 can be imposed for breaking the rules.

Will be fined

You must have heard the siren of an ambulance on the road. That’s why it is played. So that the vehicles ahead can give way to the ambulance. If any person does not give way to an ambulance, he has to pay a heavy fine. Under the Traffic Police Central Motor Vehicles Act (Amendment) 2019, the driver of the vehicle may have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 for not giving place to the ambulance.

Please inform that there was no such provision in the old Motor Vehicle Act. In such a situation, it is important that as soon as you hear the sound of an ambulance or an emergency vehicle while walking on the road, you immediately move to the side to give way to it.

If the children are made to sit then they will have to pay a heavy challan

According to the new Motor Vehicle Act, a child above 4 years of age will be counted as the third passenger. In such a situation, if you are going somewhere with your child and wife sitting on your two wheeler and the age of the child is more than four years, then your challan can be deducted. According to Section 194A of the Motor Vehicles Act, an challan of Rs 1000 can be deducted for violating this rule.

Do not break these traffic rules even by mistake

There is a provision of fine up to Rs 5000 instead of Rs 1000 for driving while talking on mobile. Drunk driving can lead to imprisonment of up to 6 months or a fine of up to Rs 10,000. If this is done for the second time, then imprisonment of up to 2 years or a fine of Rs 15,000 can be done. Traffic police will deduct a challan of Rs 5000 for driving a vehicle without a driving license.

The central government is now working on a plan to remove toll plazas on national highways. Road Transport and National Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the pilot project of this scheme is going on. Under this, instead of toll plazas, automatic cameras will be installed on the highway, which will read the number plates of the vehicles and deduct the toll.

The central government is now working on a plan to remove toll plazas on national highways. Road Transport and National Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the pilot project of this scheme is going on. Under this, instead of toll plazas, automatic cameras will be installed on the highway, which will automatically read the number plates of the vehicles. Along with this, the toll will be automatically deducted from the bank account linked by the car owners.

Camera will read the number plate Nitin Gadkari said, in 2019, we have made a rule that cars will come with company-fitted number plates. Vehicles that have arrived in the last four years have different number plates. Now the plan is to replace the toll plazas with cameras, which will read these number plates and the toll will be deducted directly from the user’s account. However, there is one problem with this scheme and that is that there is no provision to penalize the drivers who do not pay at the toll plaza. We need to make legal provision for this. We can bring a provision for those cars which do not have these number plates.

According to government data from toll plazas , about 97 percent of the total toll collection of around Rs 40,000 crore currently comes through FASTags. The remaining 3 per cent people pay more than the toll rates for not using FASTags. With FASTags, it takes around 47 seconds per vehicle to cross a toll plaza. More than 260 vehicles per hour are removed through electronic toll collection lanes as against 112 vehicles per hour through manual toll collection lanes.

Because of this, more time is taken at toll plazas

FASTags have been made mandatory from February 16, 2021. However, at times people with low balance enter the toll plaza lane, which makes the process more time consuming. Sometimes internet connectivity issues also cause delays. There are two reasons for this, one is the breakdown of the radio frequency identification reader and tag and secondly, the user misplaced the FASTags.

By 2024, 26 green expressways will be built, Gadkari said, the central government is working continuously to improve the roads and highways in the country. To give convenience to the people, such expressways are being made, which save time during the journey. By 2024, 26 green expressways will be built in the country by the central government. These will reduce both distance and time between major cities.

The post No toll plazas on the highway !
