On Wednesday, Air India management announced this, in which it was told that after the merger of both airlines next month, the flight code ‘AI2’ will be used for the planes operated by Vistara.

Vistara merger with Air India

Air India said that after the merger of Tata Group and Singapore Airlines’ joint venture Vistara and Air India on November 12, the customer experience in Vistara will remain the same as before. Currently, the airline code ‘AI’ is used by Air India. On the other hand, the code ‘UK’ is used by Vistara.

Air India said that on November 12, both the companies will legally become one entity and the Air Operator Certificate will also be one. However, Vistara’s experience will remain the same and the airline’s aircraft, staff and employees will also continue to work as before, although the flight number will start with AI2.

Now Vistara flights will also be booked through Air India. The company further said that both the airlines have been working on the merger for the last one year, so that customers and staff do not face any kind of problem. Along with this, Air India is expanding the narrow-body fleet with new aircraft. Old aircraft are also being refurbished with completely new interiors.

He said the airline may also operate a special flight to bring back people from Dhaka. Sources said Vistara and IndiGo will operate scheduled services to the Bangladesh capital from Wednesday.

As per the schedule, Vistara operates daily flights from Mumbai and 3 weekly flights from Delhi to Dhaka.

Both Vistara and IndiGo had cancelled their Tuesday flights to the Bangladesh capital.

Usually, IndiGo operates one daily flight from Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai to Dhaka and two daily services from Kolkata to the Bangladesh capital.

Visitors to Dhaka will get offers

On Tuesday evening, Air India said it will operate its evening flights AI237/238 on the Delhi-Dhaka-Delhi sector.

In a statement, the airline also said that due to the current situation there, passengers with confirmed bookings on any flights to and from Dhaka between August 4 and 7 are being offered a one-time discount on rescheduling.

This offer will be applicable on tickets booked on or before August 5.

Business Class and Vistara Platinum Club members will be given 50 MB complimentary Wi-Fi.

The airline said that non-members will have to pay Rs 372.74 plus GST for using messaging apps like WhatsApp with unlimited data. Rs 1,577.54 plus GST will have to be paid for internet surfing, social media and web usage during the flight. At the same time, Rs 2,707.04 plus GST will have to be paid for using all streaming with unlimited data.

Entertainment package will be available in flight

Vistara further said that the airline offers 700 hours of in-flight entertainment package during its flights. This includes movies, TV shows and audio titles.
