This ₹27 crore notice has been issued against Shahid Ali Khan, manager of Idara Yatim Khana, an illegal occupant of Waqf properties. Shahid Ali Khan is accused of falsely claiming the Waqf Board’s property and renting it out. According to the board, Khan allegedly raised a whopping amount of ₹24.85 crore by renting out 200 shops. He is also accused of violating the rules of the Waqf Board. This action is part of the board’s ongoing efforts to prevent illegal occupation and misuse of Waqf properties.

The money received from recovery will be used for the welfare of orphans

The Waqf Board has clarified that the amount recovered will be used for the welfare and education of poor Muslim orphans. The board says that this money will be used for the benefit of the same orphans whose rights were allegedly violated by the accused. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta appeared before a bench of CJI Sanjiv Khanna, Justice PV Sanjay Kumar and Justice KV Vishwanathan in the Supreme Court and sought a week’s time to present the government’s side on the matter. CJI Sanjiv Khanna directed him to respond within 7 days and asked him to make or not make any appointment in the Waqf Board till further orders.

70 petitions have been filed against the new Waqf Act, which was heard for about 2 hours on Wednesday. During this, senior advocate Kapil Sibal and other lawyers had demanded that this law be declared unconstitutional. The Supreme Court was about to pass an interim order after hearing the arguments, but Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the central government, opposed the passing of the interim order.. and appealed to the Supreme Court that the order should be passed only after hearing the arguments of the central and state governments..

Along with this, the Supreme Court will also hear the case of violence in Murshidabad, West Bengal against the Waqf Act. The hearing of this case will be held in the Supreme Court at 10 am. Yesterday, during the hearing on the Waqf Act, the Supreme Court had expressed concern over the violence against Waqf. Let us tell you that 3 people lost their lives in the violence in Murshidabad and many policemen were also injured in stone pelting.
