This increased DA can be implemented from July 1, 2022. After the increase in DA, the salary of the workers will increase between Rs 6840 to Rs 27,312.

Finally a big good news has come for the central government employees. This time the dearness allowance (DA) of central employees may increase by 4 percent. Soon the government can approve this proposal. This increased DA can be implemented from July 1, 2022. After the increase in DA, the salary of the workers will increase between Rs 6840 to Rs 27,312.

According to media reports, the central government can take a decision to increase the DA in the meeting of the Union Cabinet to be held today. Apart from this, along with increasing the DA, the government can also decide on giving DA arrears of 18 months withheld during the Corona period. If this happens, then the central employees can get up to 1.5 lakh rupees in a lump sum. Central employees have been waiting for a long time for this DA money stopped about two years ago.

Dearness Allowance will be 38 percent

Dearness Allowance (DA) is given to government employees, while Dearness Relief (DR) is given to pensioners. The government had revised the DA in March this year, which then increased by 3 per cent to 34 per cent of an employee’s basic pay. If the DA is increased by 4 percent, then the DA will increase from the existing 34 percent to 38 percent. At present, government employees get 34 percent DA on their basic pay. If the DA hike of 4 per cent is implemented, they are going to get 38 per cent dearness allowance over their basic pay.

Why was DA stopped

During the Corona epidemic, the government had announced a relief package of about Rs 29 lakh crore and during this time the DA of the employees was stopped due to lack of funds. Dearness allowance was not given to government employees for 18 months. It is expected that this time the government can increase the DA to 4 percent. Thereafter, the effective DA will increase to 38 per cent.
