7th Pay Commission: Government employees got the gift of Independence Day, DA increased by 3 percent

7th Pay Commission DA Hike: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel gave a big news to more than 9 lakh government employees of the state on the completion of 75th year of independence. Under the 7th Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission), the state government increased the dearness allowance of government employees by three percent on 15 August.

Along with this, an extension has also been announced in the welfare schemes available under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). Speaking after unfurling the national flag at an event of Independence Day celebrations in the state, Patel appealed to the people to inculcate a sense of national interest in their hearts above everything else.

When will the DA (Dearness Allowance ) increase?

Chief Minister Patel said that under the 7th Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission), the DA (dearness allowance) of Gujarat government employees is being increased by three percent and this increase will be applicable from January 1, 2022.

He said that about 9.38 lakh employees of the state government, panchayat service and pensioners will get its benefit. This will increase the financial burden of the state government by about Rs 1,400 crore annually.

NFSA scheme expanded

Patel spoke of expansion of one kilo of gram (pulses) per card per family scheme for NFSA card holders and also announced widening of income limit eligibility criteria to include beneficiaries under the Act.

He said that 71 lakh NFSA card holders of all 250 talukas of the state would be given one kg gram (lentils) per card per month at a concessional rate. At present, only people from 50 developing taluks are getting the benefits of the scheme.

Along with this, he told that the income limit has been increased to Rs 15,000 per month for inclusion in the NFSA scheme. Right now it is currently Rs 10,000.
