Big Update on Aadhar: The government has brought changes in the rules for making Aadhar card. Now it will not be easy for any adult i.e. people above 18 years of age to get Aadhar card.
Under the new rules of the government, you will have to show such documents which will prove that you are a citizen of India. This will curb illegal immigrants, who used to make Aadhar card very easily and use it for other things.Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI has said that for proof of birth, you will have to show birth certificate or 10th class certificate. Let’s know in detail.
Aadhaar has been considered as a proof of identity and not as a certificate of citizenship. Because of this, it was possible to get it made without any deep investigation. But, recently the government has changed the rules for making it. The changes mean that only verified adults can enroll for this unique identification . Apart from this, the Unique Identification Authority of India ( UIDAI ) is going to use the online database of passport, ration card, birth and matriculation certificates for Aadhaar card for adults in future .

Illegal immigrants created Aadhaar in large numbers
Section 9 of the Aadhaar Act clearly states that Aadhaar is not a proof of citizenship or residence. It is only a unique number issued for identification. According to government data, in the last 15 years, more than 140 crore Aadhaar numbers have been made. These include Aadhaar numbers of dead people and the number of adults is almost as high.
Now the government even issues Aadhaar to newborns immediately after their birth. But, in view of the increasing number of illegal migrants in recent times and the number of Aadhaar numbers being found with them, it has been decided to tighten the criteria for new adult registration. To prevent illegal migrants from obtaining Aadhaar, it has been ordered to issue Aadhaar only after strict verification through the state portal .
It will be difficult to rig the Aadhaar
The government said that in the last one year, there have been complaints of illegal migrants tampering with documents to obtain Aadhaar . A government official has ordered that it will now be difficult for any illegal migrant to obtain Aadhaar.
Cannot use for citizenship
Sources said that even though illegal migrant voters may use Aadhaar to get their names cleared from the voter list during the Special Intensive Revision ( SIR ), new migrants are unlikely to use these documents to acquire citizenship.
Update will be like KYC
UIDAI has developed a new tool . This will also set up a second level of verification for updates and enrollment using documents available online like driving license, PAN, MNREGA details and things like electricity bills in the future. This will be similar to KYC .
