Air India increased the salary of employees by Rs 15000, announced an annual bonus of Rs 180000

New Delhi. The salary of Air India employees has been increased for the first time after two years of coming under the control of Tata Group. Apart from this, the airline has also started the system of annual target performance bonus for pilots.

Sources said on Thursday that the decision of salary hike will be effective from April 1, 2024, while bonus is also being given to the employees on the basis of performance in the financial year 2023-24. The company has increased the salary by up to Rs 15000. Along with this, an annual bonus of up to Rs 1.8 lakh will be given which will be based on the performance of the employee.

According to sources, Air India’s Chief Human Resources Officer Ravindra Kumar GP announced salary hike and performance bonus to the employees. The airline has around 18,000 employees. However, it was not immediately known what was the extent of this salary hike.

This is the first salary hike for Air India employees after the control of Air India passed from the government to the Tata Group in January 2022. Last year, only the work of contract restructuring and compensation of old employees was done.

Sources said that apart from the salary hike scheduled for FY 2023-24, the airline has also introduced a component of annual target performance bonus for its pilots based on company and individual performance which will be effective from FY 2024-25.
