Any Indian citizen above the age of 18 years can invest in this scheme. Parents can also open an account in the name of their children. Also, a joint account can be opened between two or three people.

The process is very simple. Go to your nearest post office, fill the KVP form, provide your KYC documents (Aadhaar, PAN card). Pay the amount you want to invest, and you will get a Kisan Vikas Patra certificate.

The government has clarified when the 18 months of DA and DR arrears will be paid. “Due to the heavy expenditure on welfare schemes during the Covid period, the impact of that expenditure continued even after 2020-21. Hence, it was not possible to pay those arrears,” the government says.

Now, the Eighth Pay Commission is also being discussed. Although the Union Cabinet approved it in January this year, it has not yet been formally constituted. Once the commission is formed, it will meet representatives from various sections. It will study for about a year and make recommendations on salaries and allowances. Usually, DA is resumed when a new Pay Commission comes into effect. Currently, DA is 55 per cent as per the Seventh Pay Commission.

Railway Recruitment Board ( RRB) has issued more than 9,000 appointment letters in the first quarter. According to the Ministry of Railways, Indian Railways will appoint more than 50,000 candidates in the financial year 2025-26. This information has been given by the Ministry of Railways in an official statement issued on Wednesday (July 9 ) .

The Railway Ministry said in a press note, ” Railway Recruitment Boards ( RRBs ) have conducted Computer Based Tests ( CBTs ) for more than 1.86 crore candidates by issuing seven different notifications in respect of 55,197 vacant posts from November 2024. ”

The press note further said, ” This will enable the Railway Recruitment Board to recruit more than 50,000 candidates in the financial year 2025-26 . More than 9,000 appointment letters have been issued by RRBs in the first quarter of this financial year . ”

The aim of these recruitment exams is to fill a total of 55,197 posts. Most of these will be filled in the current financial year. Conducting exams for such a large number of candidates is a huge task . It requires detailed planning and coordination.

The Railway Ministry said that conducting CBT for RRB exam is a very big process. It requires a lot of planning and coordination. The press note said that RRB has recently taken the initiative to allocate exam centers close to the residence of the candidates. In this, special priority has been given to women and Divyangjan .

What is Unified Pension Scheme?

This means that employees who come under NPS can become a part of UPS if they want. But, it is not mandatory to do so. Central government employees who want to remain in NPS can do so.

What is the difference between UPS and NPS?

The central government started the NPS system for its employees from January 1, 2004. There is a big difference between NPS and UPS. NPS is a market-linked return scheme, while UPS is an assured pension scheme. In this, the employee gets pension according to his last salary. This simply means that the money of NPS is invested in shares, due to which its return can fluctuate. Because of this, there is some risk involved in it. If an employee does not want any risk in his retirement fund, then he can become a part of UPS.

Why did the government start UPS?

Lakhs of employees of the central government were unhappy with NPS. They wanted a scheme like the old pension scheme with assured returns. In view of their persistent demand, the government announced UPS last year. The pension scheme that was in force before January 1, 2004 was a fully assured pension scheme. With the introduction of UPS, the government has fulfilled the employees’ demand for an assured pension scheme.

What is the process to apply?

A person who starts working in the central government on or after April 1, 2025 can become a part of UPS. For this, he will have to apply. He can apply on the eNPS portal (https://enps.nsdl.com/eNPS/NationalPensionSystem.html). If an employee does not want to apply online, then the option to apply offline is available. From a tax perspective, giving this money to your wife as a loan can lead to huge tax savings.

There are different tax rules on gifts.

If you gift Rs 30,00,000 to your wife, different tax rules will apply. Section 64(1)(IV) of the Income Tax Act, 1961 states that if a husband gives money to his wife as a gift, the wife will not have to pay tax on the income earned from that money. That income will be added to the income of the person giving the gift (here the husband). Then the entire income will have to be taxed as per the slab.

The tax calculation on gifting in this way

can be easily understood with the help of an example. Suppose the Rs 30 lakh given to the wife gives an income of Rs 6 lakh in a year. Then this income will be added to the husband’s income. This will make the husband’s total income Rs 36 lakh annually. He will have to pay tax on the income of Rs 36 lakh instead of Rs 30.

Suppose your husband’s taxable income is Rs 28 lakh, then after adding the income from your gift, your total taxable income becomes Rs 34 lakh. On a taxable income of Rs 34 lakh, you will have to pay tax of Rs 8,58,000 under the old regime, while under the new regime you will have to pay tax of Rs 7,77,400.

Calculation of tax on loan

Now suppose that the husband gives a loan of Rs. 30,00,000 to his wife. He gives this loan at an annual interest rate of 10 percent. Using this loan money, the wife earns an income of Rs. 6 lakh. The wife gives 10 percent interest to her husband, which means that she gives Rs. 3 lakh to her husband. Now her profit decreases to Rs. 3 lakh.

Less tax on loan instead of gift Now the husband’s income becomes Rs 31 lakh (28+3). On this income of Rs 31 lakh, the husband’s tax in the old system will be Rs 7,64,400, while in the new system it will be Rs 6,83,800. This means that the husband is getting tax benefit by giving loan as opposed to gift. The wife’s income is Rs 3 lakh, on which no tax will be levied in the new income tax regime. A nominal tax will be levied in the old regime. It has to be kept in mind that this tax calculation is for the assessment year 2025-26.

A subsidy of up to Rs 78,000 is available on 3kW or more. In this, extra help is provided by the state government.

Who can apply under the scheme

To apply for PM Surya Ghar Yojana, the applicant must be an Indian citizen. There should be space on the roof of the house to install solar panels. The house should have a valid electricity connection. The family should not have taken any solar subsidy earlier. The annual income of the family should be less than Rs 1.5 lakh.

The decision to keep the interest rate at 8.25% was taken in the 237th meeting of the Central Board of Trustees of EPFO ​​held in Delhi on 28 February 2025. This meeting was chaired by Mandaviya. India’s 5 big public sector banks have now abolished the rule of maintaining Average Monthly Balance (AMB). The country’s big public sector banks are now moving towards providing better facilities to the customers. Punjab National Bank, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, SBI had already abolished the rule of maintaining minimum balance on savings account. Because now no charge will be deducted even if the amount in the savings account decreases.

What is AMB?

The Department of Personnel (DoPT) has asked all ministries and offices to immediately upload the service book of their employees on the online portal. If the father has not made a will, then his property is divided among the legal heirs under the Hindu Succession Act. In this, son, daughter, wife get an equal share of the property. They are considered as Class 1 legal heirs.

However, if the father has made a will and has bequeathed his property to one person, then the other heirs cannot claim that property. But the will has no effect on the ancestral property. All the legal heirs have equal rights over it.

Distributing it on time is a better solution.

Parents often divide their assets while they are alive to avoid future disputes. Many mothers gift their daughters land, jewelry, or houses so that they have financial security even after marriage.

If a person has two houses and two children, he can give one house to each of them. He can live in one house himself and nominate the other property in the will. So that later no one has any complaint.

A common question that arises is whether the child of a divorced woman gets a right in the ancestral property of her ex-husband? The answer is – yes. According to the Hindu Succession Act, such children also inherit the ancestral property of their father, whether the father has remarried or not.

Atal Pension Yojana: Working in old age is not a wish but a compulsion for many people. But, by investing in Atal Pension Yojna (APY) you can choose a respectable life for yourself. By investing a very small amount in this scheme, a guaranteed income of Rs. 1000 to Rs. 5000 can be obtained every month. The purpose of this pension scheme of the government is to make the elderly self-reliant and give them the right to a respectable life at that age. Indian men and women between 18 and 40 years can invest in it.

The Government of India has launched the Atal Pension Yojana especially for workers in the unorganized sector. Its main goal is to make the elderly above 60 years of age self-reliant in old age. After the age of 60, a guaranteed pension is received every month according to the plan chosen by the person. This scheme is operated by PFRFA i.e. Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority. Under this, investors get many benefits. Let’s know about them:

Benefits of Atal Pension Yojana

Less investment, bigger benefit: The investment amount is less if you start this scheme early. That is, the younger the age at which you start investing, the lesser will be the monthly contribution.

Freedom to choose pension: In this scheme, investors can choose the option of monthly pension of Rs 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 or 5000 as per their need.

Guaranteed Pension: This is a government pension scheme. Your money is completely safe in this, because the Government of India gives full guarantee of the pension received in this.

Tax benefits: Investing in Atal Pension Yojana offers additional tax benefits of up to Rs 50,000 under section 80CCD (1B) of the Income Tax Act.

Benefit to the nominee: On the death of the pensioner after the age of 60, the pension amount will be given to his/her spouse. On the death of both, the entire amount deposited is returned to the nominee.

Know what is the way to apply

There are three ways to apply for Atal Pension Yojana. You can open an account online, offline or directly through the website of the scheme.

1. Offline method (through bank or post office)

Take the registration form of Atal Pension Yojana from your nearest bank or post office branch where you have your savings account. Fill the name, address, Aadhaar number, mobile number and nominee details correctly in the form. Attach the photocopy of Aadhaar card and other necessary documents and submit it. After this, your pension account will be opened and your installment will be auto debited every month.

2. Online Method (Through Net Banking)

You can also apply for pension scheme online through net banking. For this, open the net banking page and after clicking on the social schemes option, click on Atal Pension Yojana. Submit the required information, pension option and nominee details in the form available here. The bank will ask you for permission for auto debit, after which your registration will be completed. After this you will get a Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN).

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made an important change in the processes related to Aadhaar. Now to get a new Aadhaar card made or to get any kind of update done, you will have to provide certificates as per the list of new documents.

This update will apply not only to Indian citizens but also to Overseas Indians (OCI cardholders), children above 5 years of age, and foreign nationals living in India on long-term visas.

Now these documents will be necessary for updating or registering Aadhaar.

UIDAI has fixed a list of different documents for three major details related to Aadhaar –

Valid documents for proof of identity

You will need one of these documents:

• Passport
• PAN card
• Voter ID card
• Driving license
• Photo ID issued by a government or public sector company
• MNREGA job card
• Pensioner ID card

Acceptable documents for proof of address

If you wish to update your address, you must submit one of the following documents:

• Electricity/water/gas bill
• Landline telephone bill
• Bank passbook or bank statement
• Ration card
• Driving license
• Rent agreement (registered)
• Pension card
• Residence certificate issued by the government

Documents required for proof of Date of Birth

If you wish to change or update your date of birth, one of these documents will be valid:
School or college mark sheet (with date of birth)

• Birth certificate
• Passport
• A certificate issued by any government department which mentions the date of birth

The facility of free update has also been extended.

Giving relief to the common citizens, UIDAI has extended the free facility of online update in Aadhaar till 14 June 2026. This means that you can update the information online without any charge by logging in to the official website of UIDAI and uploading the necessary documents.

Why is Aadhaar necessary?

In today’s era, Aadhaar card has become a multipurpose document. From banking, mobile number linking, government schemes, ration card, passport application, pension to school admission – any work can remain incomplete without Aadhaar. Therefore, it is important that your Aadhaar is completely updated and full of correct information.

Now the old document list will not work.

If you had made or updated Aadhaar earlier, and now want to update something again, then keep in mind that the old documents may not be valid now. Work will be done as per the new list of UIDAI.

Before the Bihar assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken a big decision. Now the state government will give 35 percent reservation in government jobs only to women of Bihar. That is, provision of domicile has been made in women reservation. In direct recruitment of any government job, 35% seats will be reserved for women candidates of Bihar. Let us tell you that in the meeting of Bihar Cabinet held on Tuesday, a total of 43 proposals including the formation of Youth Commission were approved.

In this meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the proposal to provide 35 percent horizontal reservation to women candidates who are native of the state in direct appointments to all levels and all types of posts in all government services and cadres of Bihar state was also approved.

Giving detailed information to media persons after the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of Cabinet Secretariat Dr. S. Siddharth said that a total of 43 proposals including the formation of Youth Commission were approved in this meeting. A big decision was taken in this meeting that now only women of Bihar will get 35 percent reservation in government jobs. The proposal to provide 35 percent horizontal reservation to women candidates who are natives of the state in direct appointments to all levels and all types of posts in all government services, cadres of the state was also approved.

Diesel subsidy scheme was approved in the meeting. Rs 100 crore has been sanctioned for this. Farmers will get subsidy at the rate of Rs 2250 per acre for three irrigations. A farmer will get diesel subsidy for a maximum of eight acres. He told that a decision was also taken regarding the disabled in the meeting. Under the Chief Minister Divyangjan Empowerment Scheme, male disabled candidates of backward class, economically weaker section and general category will be given incentive amount of Rs 50 thousand and Rs one lakh respectively for the preparation of main examination and interview on passing the preliminary examination of BPSC and UPSC. For this, the proposal to start Divyangjan Civil Service Incentive Scheme has also been approved.

In the meeting, approval was given for the implementation of Millets Program to promote Millets crop in Kharif season under Nutri Cereals (Millets) Scheme under Food and Nutrition Security under the Fourth Agriculture Road Map in the financial year 2025-26 and a total withdrawal and expenditure of Rs 46 crore 75 lakh was approved.

If you also avoid keeping cash and use UPI (Unified Payments Interface) facility every day, then this news is important for you. Actually, National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is going to implement new rules related to UPI payments from August 1, 2025.

The purpose of these rules is to make the UPI system faster, safer and more reliable than before. Let us tell you about these rules in detail…

New UPI rules will be implemented from August 1 (New UPI rules from 1st August)

1. Limit for checking balance

Now UPI users will be able to check their account balance only 50 times on the app in a day. This limit has been imposed to control the traffic of the UPI system and prevent the system from slowing down.

2. Linked account information

Now you will be able to check which bank account your mobile number is linked to only 25 times a day.

3. Time slot fixed for auto pay payment

Now subscription-based auto debits (like Netflix or SIP etc.) through UPI will be processed only during non-peak times. That is, before 10 am, between 1 pm to 5 pm and after 9:30 pm.

4. Limit for checking UPI transaction status

If a payment is stuck, you will now be able to check its status only three times and there will be a gap of at least 90 seconds between each check.

The purpose of these new rules is to reduce the load on the UPI server and prevent problems like frequent outages.

Big changes in the last 6 months

1. Decreased API time limit for better speed

In June 2025, NPCI reduced the response time of UPI APIs to 15 seconds for Request-Pay and Response-Pay and to 10 seconds for transaction status check and failed transaction reversal. This increased the speed of transactions.

2. Beneficiary’s name will be visible before payment

From June 30, 2025, before making every UPI payment, you will now see the beneficiary’s name registered with the bank. This change is expected to drastically reduce fraudulent transactions.

3. Chargeback limit fixed

NPCI has fixed the limit of UPI chargeback in December 2024. A consumer can claim chargeback a maximum of 10 times in 30 days and up to 5 times with the same person or institution.

Why were these changes needed?

Every month, there are about 16 billion transactions on UPI. Due to high load on the system, there have been frequent complaints of outages in April and May, which affected a large number of users. NPCI believes that most of the problems are caused by excessive calls on the UPI API. Such as checking balance every 2 minutes or refreshing the same transaction repeatedly. These new rules will help reduce calls, which will make the system work even faster and smoother.

According to the government order issued by the Department of Labor, Employment, Training and Factories on July 5, this change has been made under the Telangana Shops and Establishments Act, 1988 (Act No. 20 of 1988). According to the government order, it has been clarified that the working hours in commercial units should not exceed 10 hours per day and the weekly working hours limit should not exceed 48 hours. On one hand, according to the new limit set by the Telangana government, if the work is done for more than 10 hours, then the employees will get overtime, but here it has also been clarified that despite overtime, the shift cannot be more than 12 hours. According to the government, this law regarding working hours in a week has been brought with the aim of promoting business in the state. Under this, employees working in commercial units can be allowed to work more than 48 hours a week on overtime wages, but they will not have to work more than 144 hours in any quarter. The government has also clearly said that if these conditions are not followed or violated, the exemption given to the concerned company will be cancelled.

Decision amid debate on work-life balance

It is notable that the Telangana government has approved the proposal regarding working hours in a week at a time when the debate on work-life balance has been going on for a long time in the country. While last year Infosys Chairman N R Narayana Murthy heated up the issue by advising 70 hours of work in a week, after that L&T Chairman S N Subrahmanyan went two steps further and advised a 90-hour work week, for which he was severely criticized.

This has given legal sanction to the government’s plan to improve the education system. The state government had decided to merge the primary schools of the state by issuing an order on June 16, 2024. Under this, it was decided to operate government primary schools with low student numbers by merging them with other nearby schools. Two separate petitions were filed by Krishna Kumari and other petitioners against this decision. The petitioners had termed the merger policy as unconstitutional and a violation of the right to education of children and demanded the cancellation of the order.

The Lucknow bench of the High Court had reserved the decision after hearing the arguments of both the parties on July 4. Now on Monday, the court dismissed both the petitions while giving its verdict. The court said that this step of the state government has been taken with the aim of strengthening the education system and better use of resources. This will provide better educational environment and facilities to the children. The court said that in such cases, policy decisions cannot be challenged unless it is unconstitutional or malicious.

Difficulty in managing resources

The government had argued that it was becoming difficult to make adequate arrangements for teachers, buildings and resources in schools with low student numbers. The merger policy will not only improve the quality of education but will also lead to better management of budget and human resources. The state government has called this decision of the High Court a positive step. Now there is no legal obstacle in the process of merger of primary schools.

On July 1, 51 children including Krishna Kumari, a student of Sitapur district, filed a petition in the High Court against the order of the Uttar Pradesh government. Another petition was also filed on July 2. The petitioners had said that this order violates the Free and Compulsory Education Act (RTE Act).

Ashwini Vaishnav said that two Software Technology Parks of India (STPIs) will be inaugurated in Bihar soon. These include STPI built at a cost of ₹ 53 crore in Patliputra and STPI built at a cost of ₹ 10 crore in Darbhanga. According to the order issued by the Ghaziabad administration, this ban will be applicable on a total stretch of 56 km from Kashi Toll Plaza in Meerut to UP Gate in Ghaziabad. Entry of heavy vehicles on this route will be banned from July 11, while entry of cars and other light vehicles will be banned from July 19.

The closure of this expressway connecting Delhi to Meerut, Noida and other areas will cause a lot of trouble to the people. NH-9 running parallel to the expressway will remain open for general traffic, but the traffic load on it is likely to increase. This decision of the administration has been taken to conduct the Kanwar Yatra organized every year in a safe and systematic manner. During this time, only Kanwar pilgrims will be able to walk on the expressway, while general passengers will have to go through alternative routes. Traffic Police ACP Ziauddin Ahmed said that alternative routes have been decided for the convenience of the general public.

Light vehicles coming from Meerut to Ghaziabad will come via Hapur via NH-9. Similarly, heavy vehicles coming from Ghazipur will be sent towards Meerut via Dasna and then Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE). In previous years also, common passengers had to face a lot of trouble due to similar closures and diversions during the Kanwar Yatra. Even in the year 2023, thousands of vehicles were stranded for several hours due to temporary diversion on NH-9. Most of the vehicles were diverted towards DND Flyway, Noida Expressway and EPE, causing long traffic jams.

To keep the traffic smooth during the Yatra, the police has prepared a detailed plan for Ghaziabad. Vehicles going from Baghpat towards Delhi will be sent via Tronica City and Sonia Vihar. Entry of heavy vehicles will be restricted at Loni border. At the same time, vehicles coming to Ghaziabad from Hapur and Bulandshahr will be diverted from Dasna Bridge itself.

There is a huge crowd of devotees on these three routes.

Every year during the Kanwar Yatra, lakhs of devotees bring Ganga water from Haridwar and offer it in their respective Shiva temples. Kanwar pilgrims travel on three major routes passing through Ghaziabad district. For pedestrians, Pipeline Road from Loni Border to Niwari is the main route, while postal Kanwariyas traveling at a fast speed use the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. Proposal to increase medical allowance three times

During the 34th SCOVA meeting held in Delhi on 11 March 2025, an important proposal came up regarding the fixed medical allowance of pensioners. In the meeting, it was suggested that the current medical allowance of Rs 1,000 should be increased to Rs 3,000 per month. Pensioners have been demanding an increase in this allowance for a long time in view of rising inflation and medical expenses. Now it has been recommended to include this proposal in the terms of reference of the 8th Pay Commission. It is believed that this change can come into effect from January 1, 2026.

There may be an increase in HRA and other allowances

It was also made clear in the SCOVA meeting that apart from salary, other allowances like House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance (TA), Dearness Allowance (DA) and Medical Allowance should also be reviewed. If media reports are to be believed, employees living in metro cities are likely to get more HRA. At the same time, the calculation of travel allowance for employees posted in rural and semi-urban areas can be done in a new way. Along with this, the government is also considering abolishing some old allowances so that the system can be made better.

Will DA be merged into basic salary?

In the 7th Pay Commission, the fitment factor was set at 2.57. Then the minimum salary was fixed at Rs 18,000. Now it can go up to Rs 27000. In the 8th Pay Commission, the basic salary can be merged with DA. At present, the outline of the commission and the TOR are yet to be finalized. Usually, the time from the formation of a pay commission to the implementation of its recommendations is 18 to 24 months. In such a situation, the implementation date which is expected to be on 1 January 2026, now it seems that this date can also be extended.

A transparent and efficient mechanism will be developed to implement this policy, so that any kind of inequality in the housing allocation process can be prevented. For this, guidelines have been issued to the concerned departments, which will ensure that the benefits of the reservation policy reach the eligible persons in a timely manner.

UAE has now introduced a new ‘Nomination Based Golden Visa’, under which eligible Indian citizens can get permission to stay forever. However, for this you will have to pay a hefty amount. A system has been created by UAE that now if you pay 1 lakh dirham i.e. 23.30 lakh rupees, you will get a golden visa.

Earlier, to get a Golden Visa, Indians had to buy property worth at least 20 lakh dirhams (approximately Rs 4.66 crore) inside the UAE. Or you had to make a big investment, but now this new method has made this work very easy.

Currently, India-Bangladesh have been included in the first phase of testing of this nomination based golden visa. Before the start of this visa, you will also be subjected to strict scrutiny. The candidate’s criminal record or things like money laundering and social media profile will be looked into carefully.

The matter does not end here, it will also be seen how you can contribute to the UAE economy. It will be seen what you can do for art, business, science or any other profession.

If anyone wants to apply for this visa, then they can apply at One VASCO centers or Rayad Group offices as well as through online portals. There is no need to go to Dubai for this, you can get approval in your own country.

Apart from all this, this visa will be permanent, whereas earlier the Golden Visa was based on property and it used to expire when you sold or distributed the property. But this is not the case under the new system.

What is APAAR ID?

The full form of APAAR is Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry. It has been created under Academic Bank of Credit (ABC). It is like a digital account in which all the education related details of the student are stored. This includes admission in school or college, classes passed, course credits, certificates and degrees.

Benefits of APAAR ID

There is a digital record of education. It is easy to change institutes. Safety of certificate. Fraud can be avoided. Tracking becomes easy at national level.

How to make APAAR ID online?

The student or applicant has to contact his school. The school updates the student’s information including name, Aadhaar, mobile number, class on the UDISE+ portal. After this, the student has to login to DigiLocker through Aadhaar card. After logging into DigiLocker, select the APAAR ID option and give authorization. APAAR ID will be generated in a few seconds and it will be saved in DigiLocker.

Note: If the student is a minor, meaning below 18 years of age, then his/her parental consent will be required.

Who can apply?

For this, students studying in government or private schools can apply. Apart from college and university students, students who are doing skill development courses can also apply.

APAAR ID is a big step towards making education in India digital and more transparent. It allows students to better track their education journey and access it quickly when needed.

Heavy rain and storm can wreak havoc in Rajasthan.

According to the weather department, the eastern and western parts of Rajasthan are going to be drenched in rain for the next six days. Heavy rain is expected especially on July 9. Along with this, strong winds, storms and lightning may also occur in many areas. People have been advised to remain alert.

Delhi will get relief from heat.

The weather is going to change in the national capital Delhi as well. There are chances of light to moderate rain in the next six days. During this time, there may be strong winds and rain accompanied by thunder at some places. This may give relief to Delhiites from humidity and heat.

Clouds will rain continuously in North India.

The states of Northwest India – Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir will also see intermittent rain for the next few days. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain with thunderstorms in these areas.

Northeast India states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura may face trouble due to thunderstorms and heavy rains for the next six days. Thunderstorms and strong winds can affect normal life in these areas.

According to the IMD, the monsoon is currently active across India and its effect may increase further in the coming days. This system is bringing moisture from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea and bringing rain across the country. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to keep an eye on the latest weather updates and not to take rain-related warnings lightly.

The 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC), approved by the Union Cabinet earlier this year, is expected to be implemented around 2027. This will bring about a major change in the salary structure of central government employees across India. However, the official Terms of Reference, chairman and members of the commission have not been announced yet.

What is the 8th Pay Commission?

The Pay Commission is a periodic exercise conducted by the Government of India to revise the pay structure of central government employees. It affects not only the basic pay and allowances of government employees, but also pension and retirement benefits. The 8th Pay Commission will replace the 7th CPC, which was implemented in 2016. At the core of the CPC recommendations is the Pay Matrix, a system that determines salaries based on levels and years of service. The fitment factor, which multiplies the existing pay to arrive at the new basic pay, is expected to be increased from 2.57 (under 7th CPC) to 2.86 under the 8th CPC.

How much can the salary increase

For example, employees at pay level 1, who are currently earning a basic salary of ₹18,000, can get benefits of up to ₹51,480. At the same time, level 2 employees can get benefits ranging from ₹19,900 to ₹56,914. Level 3 employees can get a hike of ₹21,700 to ₹62,062. At level 6, the basic salary can increase from ₹35,400 to over ₹1 lakh, while level 10 officers, including entry-level IAS and IPS officers, can get benefits ranging from ₹56,100 to ₹1.6 lakh.

In states or cities where Muharram is being observed on July 6 (like in most places), schools and offices are more likely to remain open on July 7. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy to very heavy rains in many states from 6 to 12 July, due to which the local administration has declared holidays in schools keeping in mind the safety of the children.

It has been raining heavily since morning in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Along with the drop in temperature, a few hours of rain has increased the problem of waterlogging (Aaj Ka Mausam). In such a situation, it is a big problem for children to reach school. Karnataka: Due to heavy rains in Kodagu (Coorg) district, a holiday has been declared for all schools and colleges on July 7. In other areas of Karnataka, especially South Karnataka, there is a heavy rain alert between July 6 and 9-12, due to which the local administration may decide to close the schools.

Chhattisgarh: Schools closed on July 7 due to heavy rains in Jagdalpur. IMD has warned of extremely heavy rains in Chhattisgarh on July 6-7, due to which schools may be closed in other districts as well. Children can call the school to know the latest updates.

Rajasthan: Eastern Rajasthan (Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Bharatpur, Udaipur) is likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall on July 7-9. Schools have already been closed due to rain in some districts like Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Bharatpur and Dausa. Light to moderate rain is expected in Western Rajasthan (Jodhpur, Bikaner).

Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana: There is an alert of heavy rain in these states from 6-12 July. Floods, landslides and cloudbursts have been occurring in Himachal Pradesh for the last several days. Schools have been closed in many districts for the last few days.

Schools have been ordered closed in Maharashtra due to rain on 7 July 2025. The IMD has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rains in many parts of Maharashtra, especially Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Vidarbha regions from 6-12 July. Schools and colleges will remain closed due to heavy rains in Palghar, Maharashtra. Palghar District Collector Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar has declared a holiday in all schools, colleges, coaching centers and other educational institutions in the district on 7 July 2025 under the Disaster Management Act 2005.

The decision to close schools has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the students. Heavy rains can lead to waterlogging, landslides and traffic disruptions. New method for calculating toll rates

User fee is collected at toll plazas on national highways as per the ‘NH Fee Rules, 2008’. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has amended these rules and notified a new method for calculating toll rates.

As per the current rules, users pay 10 times the regular toll for every kilometre of infrastructure on national highways, including bridges, tunnels, flyovers or elevated highways.

The ministry gave examples to explain the toll rates

. The ministry has given some examples to explain the new toll rates. The ministry said that if the total length of a portion of a national highway is 40 km, which includes only the structure, then the minimum length will be calculated as follows- 10 x 40 (ten times the length of the structure) = 400 km or five times the total length of the portion of the national highway = 5 x 40 = 200 km.

The user fee will be calculated for the smaller length i.e. 200 km and not for 400 km. In this case, the user fee will be levied only on half (50 per cent) of the length of the road.

Toll rates cut by up to 50 percent

According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the current toll calculation method is aimed at compensating the high construction costs associated with such structures. He said that the revised notification issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has cut toll rates for stretches such as flyovers, underpasses and tunnels by up to 50 percent.

A gazette notification issued on July 3 stated that the Supreme Court Officers and Servants (Conditions of Service and Conduct) Rules, 1961 have been amended using the powers conferred under Article 146 (2).

According to the amended Rule 4A, “Reservation for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Divyangs, ex-servicemen and dependents of freedom fighters in direct recruitment shall be applicable in accordance with the notifications and orders issued by the Government of India from time to time.”

What was there till now?

Till now, there was reservation provision only for SC/ST in Supreme Court staff appointments. There was no clear provision for OBC. This is the first time that OBC category candidates will also get opportunities in court staff appointments. The new reservation system will be post-based and not vacancy-based. This system is based on the famous R.K. Sabharwal vs State of Punjab decision of a five-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court in 1995.

The decision said that reservation should be decided according to the post and not on the basis of annual vacancies. There should be separate rosters for direct recruitment and promotion. Once a post is allotted to a reserved category, it will remain in the same category permanently, even if the person retires.

The new salary in the 8th Pay Commission will be calculated through the Fitment Factor. Know here how much salary will increase at different levels.

What is fitment factor?

The fitment factor is the multiple by which the existing basic salary is multiplied to arrive at the new salary. In the 7th Pay Commission, the fitment factor was 2.57, which increased the basic pay from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000. In the 8th Pay Commission, it is expected to be 2.86, which may lead to a major increase in the basic pay.

That is, if someone’s basic salary is currently Rs 18,000, then by multiplying 2.86 it can increase to Rs 51,480. However, the net salary may be slightly less than this, because deductions like PF, tax are also made.

Estimated salary increase at different levels

Under the 8th Pay Commission, there may be a huge increase in the estimated salary of employees at different levels.

The current basic salary of employees working at level-1 is Rs 18,000, which can increase to around Rs 51,480. That is, they will get an estimated increase of Rs 33,480.

The current salary of level-2 employees is Rs 19,900, which can increase to around Rs 56,914. In this way, their salary can increase by Rs 37,014.

The current salary of employees included in Level-3 is Rs 21,700, which can increase to Rs 62,062 in the new commission. This means that they will get a benefit of up to Rs 40,362.

The salary of employees from Level 4 to Level 6 – like sub-inspector or junior engineer – can increase from Rs 35,400 to around Rs 1,01,244, that is, an increase of Rs 65,844.

At the same time, the basic salary of the average officers from level 7 to 10 can increase from Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,60,446. That is, they can get an estimated benefit of Rs 1,04,346. Officers from groups like IAS, IPS are included in this. This estimate has been made on the basis of fitment factor 2.86, and the final decision will be taken after the recommendations of the government.

Which employees fall at which level?

Level 1: Peon, Attendant, Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)

Level 2: Lower Division Clerk (LDC)

Level 3: Constable, Trade Staff

Level 4: Stenographer Grade D, Junior Clerk

Level 5: Senior Clerk, Technical Assistant

Level 6: Inspector, Sub-Inspector, Junior Engineer

Level 7: Superintendent, Section Officer, Assistant Engineer

Level 8: Senior Section Officer, Audit Officer

Level 9: Deputy SP, Accounts Officer

Level 10: Group-A officers like IAS, IPS, IFS

Although all these figures are estimates at present, the situation will become completely clear when the recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission are made public by the government.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has released a new list for the year 2025–26 for making and updating Aadhaar. The new list states which documents will now be required for Aadhaar.

For whom are these new rules?

• Those residing in India on Long Term Visa (LTV)

Which documents are valid?

The Indian passport is valid for all four types of proof — proof of identity (ID), address, relationship and date of birth.

Now only one Aadhaar for one person

UIDAI has clearly stated that if someone has two or more Aadhaar numbers by mistake, then only the first Aadhaar number issued will be valid and all other Aadhaar numbers will be cancelled.

Different rules for OCI and foreign nationals

Foreign nationals and OCI card holders will have to submit documents such as foreign passport, visa, citizenship certificate, or residence permit issued by FRRO.

If you want to change the name, date of birth or gender in your Aadhaar, then for this you will have to give self-declaration along with gazette notification, medical certificate or birth certificate. Although the GPF interest rate is the same as the Public Provident Fund (PPF) rate of 7.1%, there are some key differences. PPF is for all Indian citizens, including the self-employed. It also has a lock-in period of 15 years. In contrast, GPF is only for government employees and allows full withdrawal on retirement.

EPF is different from these two

Apart from this, Employee Provident Fund (EPF) is also a scheme run by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). It is mainly for salaried employees of the private sector. Its interest rate is reviewed by the EPFO ​​on an annual basis. Currently, the interest rate is 8.25 percent.

The Modi government has made another big announcement in the interest of central employees. Now all the tax benefits available under the National Pension System (NPS) will also be applicable on the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS). Through this, the government is trying to make UPS more attractive for central employees.

UPS is an alternative to NPS

Earlier this year, the Integrated Pension Scheme was introduced for central employees from April 1, 2025. It has been introduced as an option under the NPS. Existing government employees who are already under NPS have also been given a one-time option to switch to UPS. That is to say, it is not mandatory for central employees enrolled under NPS.

According to the information given by the Finance Ministry, employees choosing UPS will get all the tax benefits that are available under NPS. This includes TDS and other tax benefits, which make this scheme more financially attractive. This decision brings parity between the two schemes and gives a level playing field to employees choosing UPS instead of the traditional NPS.

Features of Integrated Pension Scheme

Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) provides a guaranteed pension. In this, the government gives 18.5 percent of the employee’s basic salary and dearness allowance. At the same time, the employee contributes 10 percent. This scheme has been introduced to replace NPS for new employees of the Central Government and as an alternative to NPS for existing employees. Talking about NPS, it is a retirement benefit scheme launched by the Government of India to provide regular income facility after retirement for all the subscribers.

Deadline to choose the option is 30 September

Recently, the government extended the deadline for employees to exercise their option under UPS by three months to September 30. Earlier, eligible employees, including existing government employees, retired employees and spouses of deceased retired employees, had to exercise their option under UPS by June 30, 2025.

The scheme we are talking about is known as Senior Citizen Saving Scheme (SCSS). Under this scheme, you can earn a huge income by depositing a lump sum amount. Senior Citizen Saving Scheme is a supportive scheme by the government. It has been specially designed for senior citizens. That means you can gift this scheme to your father or grandfather.

This scheme is open for people aged 60 years or above. The minimum investment for this scheme is Rs 1000 and the maximum investment limit is Rs 30 lakh. The maturity period under this scheme is for 5 years, but if you want, you can extend it for another 3 years. Talking about interest, 8.2 percent interest is given under this scheme. Its interest is fixed on every quarterly basis and interest is issued on annual basis.

Who can open an account?

Any senior citizen of India can open this account. This account can be opened singly or jointly. Retired civilian employees above 55 years and below 60 years of age can also invest. However, the condition will be that the investment has to be made within 1 month of receiving retirement benefits. Apart from this, retired defense personnel above 50 years of age and below 60 years of age can also invest with the same condition.

What will happen if you close the account before time?

Under this scheme, you get the benefit of tax exemption on annual investment of up to Rs 1.5 lakh under 80C. On the other hand, if you close the account before time, then the following consequences can happen.

• The account can be closed prematurely at any time after the date of opening the account. 
• If the account is closed before 1 year, no interest will be paid and if any interest is paid on the account, it will be recovered from the principal amount. 
• If the account is closed after 1 year but before 2 years from the date of opening the account, an amount equal to 1.5% of the principal will be deducted. 
• If the account is closed after 2 years but before 5 years, an amount equal to 1% of the principal will be deducted. 
• The extended account can be closed after the expiry of one year from the date of extension of the account without any deduction. 

82 thousand will be earned from interest.

If someone invests a lump sum of 20 thousand rupees in this scheme, then after completion of 5 years of maturity, he will get a huge amount on the basis of 8.2 percent interest. According to the calculation, he will earn ₹ 82,000 from interest only and the total amount on maturity will be ₹ 2,82,000. The interest earning on quarterly basis will be ₹ 4,099.

With its implementation, the officials and academicians of the Bhasha Sansthan will get the benefit of 2 years of additional service. This will enable them to contribute more to the local languages, folk literature and research activities of the state. This order will be applicable to the employees of Uttar Pradesh Bhasha Sansthan.

According to the rules of EPFO, any employee becomes entitled to get pension after working for 10 years. However, this pension is available after completing the age of 58 years.

How is money deposited in PF account?

If you work in the private sector, 12% of your salary goes into your PF account. Your company also contributes the same amount, but 8.33% of it goes into the pension fund and the remaining 3.67% goes into the PF.

Will you get pension if there is a job gap

If you work for 10 years, you will be entitled to pension. Now the question arises that if a person loses his job in between and then gets a job again. Due to which there is a gap, will he get pension in such a situation? The rule in this regard says that pension is given after completing a period of 10 years. If the employee has not changed the UAN number, then he will be entitled to pension. There should be 10 years of job with the same UAN number. With this, the money deposited in the PM account will be visible in the same UAN.

The country’s central bank i.e. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has given a big relief to the people taking loans. Now if you repay the home loan, business loan or other floating rate loan before time, then the bank or financial institution cannot charge you any kind of pre-payment penalty or charge. This rule will come into effect from January 1, 2026. Its biggest benefit will be to those who plan to repay their loan early.

At present, banks or loan lending companies charge various types of charges in the name of pre-payment charges if the loan is repaid before the stipulated time . However, now according to RBI rules, people will not have to pay such charges. RBI has clarified that if you repay the loan partially or fully, no matter from which source the payment is made, no prepayment charge will be levied. There will be no lock-in period for this.

What is the new rule of RBI ?

RBI has said that this charge will not be levied on home loans, personal loans, and other non-business loans. Big banks (Commercial Banks) will not charge any prepayment charge even on loans taken for business, which are given to an individual or small industry (Micro and Small Enterprises – MSEs).

The Reserve Bank informed that the loan giving institutions were charging as per their own will in the name of pre-payment charges. Due to which the customers were facing many problems. It was also seen that some companies were imposing such terms and conditions, due to which the customers could not take loans from other institutions or companies. Now after this announcement, businessmen can easily switch to low-interest loans. Along with this, the arbitrariness of financial institutions and banks will also be stopped.

Payment of parking

There is a discussion going on in this direction that if the entire amount is not spent, can this balance be used for parking or anywhere else. Although no decision has been taken in this regard yet, but it is definitely being considered. If this happens, then this pass will also benefit those drivers who will travel less on the highway after taking the annual pass.

Pass will start from 15th August

FASTag based annual pass of Rs 3,000 will be introduced from August 15, 2025. This pass will be valid for one year or up to 200 journeys, whichever is earlier. A separate link will soon be available on the Highway Travel App and NHAI/MoRTH website to start or renew the pass, which will make the process easier.

Relief will be available on 1063 toll

According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the total network of NHAI is 1.5 lakh km across the country. About 90 thousand km of this is with the National Highway Authority of India. Of these, 45000 km is toll levied. There are 1063 toll plazas on these NHs. There are lakhs of vehicles which come and go on these NHs daily.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has reduced the toll fee by 50 percent on those parts of the National Highway where bridges, tunnels, flyovers or elevated highways are built. This decision will give great relief to the owners of commercial vehicles, because till now they had to pay a very high toll.

Earlier, the toll on these structured sections was 10 times more than on normal roads. Now the government has made a new formula for this, which will make the calculation of toll more practical and cheaper.

How will the new toll calculation be done?

For example, if the highway has a 40 km stretch, of which 30 km is structured and 10 km is normal road, then the toll will be calculated on the basis of the lower of 10 x 30 + 10 = 310 km or 5 x 40 = 200 km, i.e. 200 km. This will reduce the toll cost considerably.

Who will get the most benefit?

Commercial vehicles will get the most relief because their toll charge is usually 4-5 times more than private vehicles. This will directly benefit many highways like Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, Dwarka Expressway, Nashik Phata-Khed and Danapur-Bihta.

When will the new rules be applicable?

This rule will be applicable on the old toll plazas from the next toll revision date. This rule will be applicable on the new toll plazas from the date of commencement of operations. At the toll plazas which are operated by a private company, this rule will be applicable after the expiry of the agreement period.

What will change overall?

Now the passengers travelling on bridges and elevated highways will have to pay much less toll, which will make travelling cheaper and provide relief to the people. This will prove to be a big benefit especially for those driving trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles.

Entry of heavy vehicles on this route will be banned from July 11 itself, while cars and other light vehicles will also be banned from July 19. People will face a lot of trouble due to the closure of this expressway connecting Delhi to Meerut, Noida and areas beyond. NH-9 running parallel to the expressway will remain open for general traffic, but there is a possibility of increased traffic load on it.

This decision of the administration has been taken to conduct the Kanwar Yatra organized every year in a safe and systematic manner. During this time, only Kanwar pilgrims will be able to travel on the expressway, while common passengers will have to use alternative routes. Traffic Police ACP Ziauddin Ahmed informed that alternative routes have been decided for the convenience of the common people.

These will be the alternate routes

Light vehicles coming from Meerut to Ghaziabad will take the NH-9 route via Hapur. Similarly, heavy vehicles coming from Ghazipur will be sent towards Meerut via Dasna and then Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE). In previous years also, common passengers had to face a lot of trouble due to similar closures and diversions during the Kanwar Yatra. In the year 2023 also, thousands of vehicles were stranded on NH-9 for several hours due to a temporary diversion. Most of the vehicles were diverted towards DND Flyway, Noida Expressway and EPE, causing long traffic jams.

To keep the traffic smooth during the Yatra, the police has prepared a detailed plan for Ghaziabad. Vehicles going towards Delhi from Baghpat will be sent via Tronica City and Sonia Vihar. Entry of heavy vehicles will be banned at Loni border only. At the same time, vehicles coming to Ghaziabad from Hapur and Bulandshahr will be diverted from Dasna Bridge itself.

There is a huge crowd of devotees on these three routes

Every year, during the Kanwar Yatra, lakhs of devotees bring Gangajal from Haridwar and offer it in their Shiva temples. Kanwar pilgrims travel on three major routes passing through Ghaziabad district. For pedestrians, the pipeline road from Loni border to Niwari is the main route, while the fast-traveling postal Kanwariyas use the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. Apart from this, NH-34 i.e. GT Road is also a popular route.

The Finance Ministry on Friday said that the inclusion of UPS under the tax structure is another step by the government towards strengthening retirement security for central government employees through transparent, flexible and tax-efficient options. According to the ministry, the government has decided that the tax benefits available under NPS will also be applicable to UPS, as it is an option under NPS.

Benefits will be similar to NPS

These provisions ensure parity with the existing NPS structure and provide adequate tax relief and incentives to employees opting for UPS. The Finance Ministry had notified on January 24, 2025 that UPS will be implemented as an option under NPS for employees recruited in the Central Government Civil Services from April 1, 2025. Following this notification, government employees covered under NPS have also been given the option to join under UPS.

PFRDA will manage

To implement this framework, the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) notified the PFRDA (Operation of Unified Pension Scheme under NPS) Rules, 2025 on March 19, 2025. UPS is applicable to those Central Government employees who are covered under NPS and opt for this option under NPS. Currently, 23 lakh Central Government employees are covered under it.

UPS was implemented last year.

The Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had approved the introduction of the UPS option on August 24, 2024. NPS was introduced for government employees after the closure of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) from January 2004. But this system is market-based which means there is no guaranteed pension available in this scheme. Employees oppose it and to overcome this dilemma, the Guaranteed Pension UPS has been implemented.

ICICI Bank’s new charges: Increased expenses on ATM, IMPS, demand draft

ICICI Bank has informed its customers that from July 1, charges have been increased on services like ATM, IMPS and DD. Up to 3 transactions are free every month in metro cities (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore). Up to 5 transactions will be free in non-metro cities. After this, you will have to pay Rs 21 every time you withdraw money and Rs 8.50 on non-financial transactions like balance check or mini statement. 18% GST will be levied separately on these charges.

Making a demand draft has also become expensive now

If you make a demand draft (DD) or pay order (PO) in ICICI Bank through cash, cheque or transfer, then now you will have to pay more charges for it than before. Under the new rule, the bank has fixed a charge of ₹50 on an amount up to ₹10,000. On the other hand, if the amount of the draft is more than ₹10,000, then a charge of ₹5 will be taken for every ₹1,000. However, the minimum charge will be limited to ₹75 and the maximum to ₹15,000. The bank has also fixed concessional rates for senior citizens, students and customers of branches in rural areas.

Transactions of NEFT and RTGS from branch became expensive

ICICI Bank customers will have to pay charges according to different slabs for doing NEFT and RTGS through branch. If you go to the branch and do NEFT, then you will have to pay ₹2.25 for transactions up to ₹10,000, ₹4.75 for transactions up to ₹1 lakh, ₹14.75 for transactions up to ₹2 lakh and ₹24.75 for transactions up to ₹10 lakh. For RTGS transactions, a charge of ₹20 will be levied on amounts from ₹2 lakh to ₹5 lakh. The good thing is that if you do NEFT or RTGS online, then you will not have to pay any charge on it.

If you send money through IMPS, then you will also have to pay a charge according to the transaction amount. In ICICI Bank, you will have to pay ₹2.50 for sending an amount up to ₹1,000, ₹5 for up to ₹25,000 and ₹15 for an amount up to ₹5 lakh. These charges have been implemented from 1 May 2024.

Withdrawing money from ATM abroad is expensive

If you are travelling abroad and withdraw money from an ATM, ICICI Bank will now charge Rs 125 and 3.5% currency conversion charge on every transaction. Rs 25 will have to be paid separately for non-financial transactions. Senior citizens will be exempted from these charges.

Axis Bank ATM charges increased, you will have to pay extra money on every transaction
Axis Bank has also updated its ATM transaction charges. Now only 3 transactions will be free every month in metro cities, while in non-metro cities, up to 5 transactions will be exempted. After this, if you withdraw money from ATM, then you will have to pay ₹ 23 on every financial transaction and ₹ 10 to ₹ 12 on non-financial (like balance check or mini statement) transactions.

Charges will be levied for withdrawing money from Federal Bank ATM after the free limit
If Federal Bank customers withdraw money from another bank’s ATM and their free transaction limit is exhausted, they will now have to pay ₹23 for every financial transaction and ₹12 for non-financial transactions. However, if the transaction is done from Federal Bank’s own ATM, no charges will be levied. Apart from this, if the transaction fails due to insufficient balance in a customer’s account, an insufficient balance charge of ₹25 will be levied on it.

Keep these things in mind while using ATM

Banking services have become expensive from July 1. If you frequently withdraw money from ATM or use banking services more, it would be better to plan the transaction and keep in mind the free limit. Apart from this, NEFT and RTGS through online channels are free, so adopting digital methods will be beneficial. What is ASTR?

The Department of Telecommunications has claimed that ASTR is a tool that is equipped with a solution based on face recognition through Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this, telecom subscribers will be verified through the facial verification of the user. This method will prove effective in preventing increasing cyber fraud. If someone has got a SIM card issued through fake documents, then the AI ​​based face recognition feature will verify the document. If the document is not verified, the SIM card will be blocked.

In this way, the subscriber database will be checked through this new AI tool. All the SIM cards used through fake documents will be blocked. Recently, the Department of Telecommunications said that more than 4.2 crore SIM cards involved in cyber crime have been blocked. Using these SIM cards, users were cheated through calls or messages. The Department of Telecommunications has investigated the numbers reported through the Sanchar Sathi portal and blocked them.
