The reason for this is that the festival of Bakrid is to be celebrated across the country on 28 and 29 June. In such a situation, banks may remain closed even on June 28 in some places. According to Islamic customs, the festival of Bakrid is celebrated 10 days after the sighting of the moon of ‘Mah-e-Zilhijj’. This year the moon has been sighted on June 19, in such a situation the festival of Bakrid will be celebrated only on June 29 in most of the states. Although some states can celebrate it on 28 June as well. Therefore, if you have any work related to the bank, then deal with it according to the holiday of your state.

Banks may remain closed in these cities on June 28

In some cities of the country, the bank holiday on Bakrid can remain on June 28 as well. This includes cities like Belapur, Jammu, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram. If the banks in these cities do not remain closed on 28th June, then they will definitely remain closed on 29th June.

Bakrid holiday in banks on June 29

In the country Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Tripura, Mizoram, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Manipur, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Banks will remain closed on June 29 in the states of West Bengal, Rajasthan, Manipur, Telangana and Gujarat.

According to the official holiday list of RBI, there will be no work in bank branches in all the states on this day. Due to the long weekend, many people have also made plans to go out on this occasion. Banks will work according to normal rules on June 30. While the very next day of the beginning of the month of July, due to Sunday, there will be a bank holiday.

Banks will remain closed for 14 days in July

According to the list of RBI, out of 31 days of July in the country, there will be no work in banks for about 14 days. here is the full list

  1. There will be Sunday holiday in banks on 2nd July.
  2. Guru Hargobind’s birth anniversary is on 5th July. Banks may remain closed in Jammu and Kashmir.
  3. On July 6, there will be a bank holiday in Mizoram on ‘Mizo Hemiche Insuikhawm Paul’ day.
  4. July 8 is a holiday on the second Saturday of the month.
  5. Sunday 9th July is a holiday.
  6. There is Ker Puja on July 11, due to which banks may remain closed in Tripura.
  7. Banks will remain closed in Sikkim on July 13, that day is Bhanu Jayanti.
  8. Sunday 16th July is a holiday.
  9. ‘You Tirot Sing Day’ can be a bank holiday in Meghalaya on 17th July.
  10. There is Drupka She-ji in Sikkim on 21st July.
  11. July 22 is the fourth Saturday of the month.
  12. 23 July is once again a Sunday holiday.
  13. On July 28, there is the festival of Ashura in Jammu and Kashmir.
  14. Muharram is expected to be celebrated across the country on July 29. Banks will remain closed on this day also.
