New Delhi. The country’s first bullet train will run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Work on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project is going on in full swing.
With the bullet train running, the distance of 506 km between the two cities can be covered in just two hours. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has now given an important update regarding the much-awaited Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project. He has said that the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train route will start by 2028.
Devendra Fadnavis, while addressing a program, said, “By 2028 we will be able to travel in bullet train.” He said that Gujarat has taken lead over Maharashtra in the implementation of this project. The Chief Minister, while targeting Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), said that the progress of the project was affected during the two years of rule till 2022, but now the work is going on in full swing.
88000 crore rupees will be spent
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, being built at a cost of about $ 15 billion (about Rs 88,000 crore), is being prepared with the cooperation of Japan. More than 60% of the work on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train route has been completed so far. Bullet train stations have started taking shape and most of the bridges have also been built. The total length of this route is 508 kilometers. The bullet train will run at a speed of 320 kilometers per hour on this route. This high-speed rail line is based on Japan’s famous Shinkansen technology. Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has provided a soft loan for the bullet project.
Two bullet trains will be available free for testing
Japan will give two Shinkansen bullet trains to India for free for testing on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train route. These are not ordinary trains, but E5 and E3 series bullet trains equipped with high-speed technology. Japanese media Japan Times has given this information in one of its reports. It is worth noting that India and Japan are working together on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project. The data of testing of E5 and E3 in India will be used in the construction of the next generation bullet train, E10 series (Alfa-X). There is a plan to make this train in India.
