CCTV cameras will be installed on all 15 underpasses of Delhi-Meerut Expressway (DME) from Ghaziabad’s UP Gate to Dasna. With their help, traffic will be controlled as well as vehicles breaking the rules will be challaned. Police will be able to keep an eye on every activity.

To make traffic safe and smooth on Meerut Expressway, the traffic police has proposed to install CCTV cameras in the underpass. On receiving the proposal, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) started a survey to install cameras. A detailed project report is being prepared. It will be sent to the ministry for approval. By installing CCTV cameras, those who violate traffic rules can be monitored. Security on the expressway will improve after the cameras are installed.
Police booth will be built at Lal Kuan for surveillance: NHAI officials said that a police booth will be opened near Lal Kuan for surveillance of highways and expressways. NHAI will get the booth prepared. After the booth is opened, police will reach the spot immediately on receiving any information. This booth will be made permanent.
Cameras are already installed on Meerut Expressway:
Cameras are already installed on all four sections of Meerut Expressway. The cameras are connected to the control room built in Dasna. Every vehicle is being monitored with the help of cameras. Drivers who break traffic rules are being challaned.
