Dearness allowance Increased: Government’s decision to increase dearness allowance by 4%, central employees will now get 38% DA

7th Pay Commission Latest News: The Modi government has approved the proposal to increase the dearness allowance ( of government employees. In the meeting of the Union Cabinet, the proposal to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) to the central employees by 4 percent was approved.

However, its official announcement has not been made yet. The formal announcement of the increased DA by the government can be made on 28 September i.e. on the third day of Navratri. This increased DA will be applicable from 1st July 2022. Central employees will also get increased DA along with the salary of September.

After increasing the DA of the Central Government by 4 percent, the total dearness allowance to the central employees has gone up to 38 percent. Along with the salary of September, the employees will get the increased DA as well as they will also get the money for the arrears of July and August. This decision of the government will benefit more than one crore central employees and pensioners.

increase in salary According to the 7th Pay Commission, the minimum basic salary at the level of cabinet secretary is Rs 56,900, while for others the minimum basic salary is Rs 18,000. According to 38 percent DA, there will be a total increase of Rs 27,312 in the annual dearness allowance on the basic salary of Rs 56,900. So on the other hand, on the basic salary of Rs 18,000, the total increase in annual DA will increase by Rs 6,840.

Criteria for increasing dearness allowance Recently, the All India Consumer Price Index-Industrial Workers (AICPI-IW) has released the data for the first half of the current financial year. The index gained 0.2 points. In view of this increase in the index, the government has increased the DA by 4 percent. The government decides the rate of DA to the employees on the basis of this index.
