ECI increased honorarium: The Election Commission has given a gift to the employees who perform duty during the elections. The commission has increased the honorarium given to all these employees during the elections.
The Election Commission of India has decided to increase the honorarium of employees performing duty during elections. According to a press release issued by the commission, the honorarium of employees working on posts in the electoral process has been increased. In a statement issued by the commission, it was said that the entire election machinery including officers and employees work in the elections from the center to local authorities. In such a situation, the honorarium has been increased so that they get better compensation for their work.
According to the Election Commission, earlier the Presiding Officer and Counting Supervisor used to get Rs. 350 per day, now as per the new honorarium, they will be given Rs. 500 per day or Rs. 2000 in lump sum. Whereas the Polling Officer was earlier given Rs. 250 per day. Under the new honorarium payment, they will be given Rs. 400 per day or Rs. 1600 in lump sum. Apart from this, the ‘Counting Assistant’ was earlier paid Rs. 250 per day. As per the new rules, the person holding this post will be given Rs. 450 per day or Rs. 1350 in lump sum.
Apart from this, Class IV employees who helped in elections for various works were earlier paid Rs 200 per day. Their honorarium will now be increased to Rs 350 per day or Rs 1400 in lump sum. Apart from this, Class IV employees of call center or control room will be paid Rs 200 per day or Rs 1000 in lump sum.
Employees engaged in works like video surveillance team, video viewing team, accounting team, control room, call center, media certification, monitoring committee, flying squad will get honorarium according to their post. Category-1 and 2 employees doing these works, who were earlier paid Rs. 1200, will now be given a lump sum of Rs. 3000. On the other hand, category-3 employees, who were earlier paid Rs. 1000, will now be given Rs. 2000.
