IMD has informed that an upper cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the Arabian Sea from May 20, due to which heavy rains may occur in many parts of the country. The effect of this seasonal change will be seen especially in states like Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department said that this cyclonic system is forming in the east-central Arabian Sea, due to which heavy and widespread rains are expected in these states in the coming days. People have been advised to remain alert and pay attention to government warnings related to the weather.
Rain alert in these states
The effect of this cyclonic system will be seen from May 20 to May 23. According to the Meteorological Department, during this period, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in some areas of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kadakad Kanal. The Meteorological Department has advised people to remain alert. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Karnataka. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and rain here till May 22. During this time, the temperature can remain between 20 to 33 degrees Celsius.
Alert for Maharashtra
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday informed that there is a possibility of rain in Mumbai and many districts of Maharashtra between 20 and 23 May. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’. In the forecast and warning issued by the IMD for the next three days, ‘Orange Alert’ has also been issued for some districts of Konkan, Marathwada, North Maharashtra and Western Maharashtra on some days.
