The weather has changed once again in Uttar Pradesh. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain in more than 33 districts of the state for the next 72 hours (23 to 25 July).
According to the Meteorological Department report, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the western, eastern and central parts of the state. During this period, heavy to very heavy rainfall may also occur in some districts.
In which districts will the clouds rain?
According to the IMD, the 33 districts and adjoining areas of Uttar Pradesh which are likely to receive heavy rains mainly include:
Western UP: Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Badaun.
Eastern and Central UP: Jalaun, Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Jaunpur, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur.
There is a possibility of rain with strong winds in all these districts, which may affect normal life.
Alarm bell: Waterlogging and flood crisis
Along with the weather department’s warning, experts have also warned about some potential dangers. Due to continuous rain, problems like waterlogging in low-lying areas and slippery roads may arise. There is also a possibility of damage to crops in rural areas and overflowing of rivers and streams. The administration has appealed to the people to be cautious and take necessary precautions.
