IMD issued a warning for heavy rains in many districts of this state for the next five days

The Regional Metrological Department of Mumbai has issued a rain warning in view of the intensification of extremely severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy. The Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of thunder and lightning in the capital of Maharashtra in the next 3-4 hours.

The Meteorological Department says that there will be moderate rain in Ratnagiri, Raigad, Thane, Palghar in the next few hours. IMD said that strong winds with a speed of 30-40 km per hour will blow in these areas for 3-4 hours.

The Meteorological Department said on Sunday that the very severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy has moved north-northeastwards with a speed of eight kilometers per hour during the last six hours.

Fishermen alert till June 11-14

IMD says that Cyclone Biparjoy is likely to make landfall on June 15 between Kutch district of Gujarat and Karachi, Pakistan. IMD has issued an alert in Thane, Mumbai and Palghar. It has also asked fishermen in the coastal areas to be on alert till June 11-14.

Yellow alert for Saurashtra and Kutch coast

Tithal Beach in Gujarat’s Valsad, a coastal city on the Arabian Sea, witnessed high waves on Saturday. As a precaution, Tithal Beach has been closed for tourists till June 14. IMD has issued a yellow alert for Saurashtra and Kutch coast. The Meteorological Department said that the very severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy will cross the coasts of Saurashtra and Kutch and Pakistan around the afternoon of June 15.
