IMD issued alert, Heavy rain on 29, 30, 31 May and 1 June, strong winds will blow at a speed of 70 km

There is news of relief for people suffering from the scorching heat. The weather is going to change now and many parts of the country are going to receive heavy rains in the next few days.

The southwest monsoon has gained momentum and the weather has started becoming pleasant with its first knock in many states. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy rains, strong winds and thunderstorms for different parts of the country.

Pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal, indication of heavy rain

A low pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal near the Odisha coast, which may turn into a depression in the next 24 hours. Due to this, heavy to very heavy rains are forecast in the states of Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till May 30.

In which parts of the country will there be heavy rain?

There is a possibility of rain with thunder in Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra from 28 May to 2 June. Heavy rains may occur in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on 29-30 May. At the same time, the weather will be active in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana between 28 and 31 May. Strong winds can blow at a speed of 50 to 70 km per hour in these areas.

New western disturbance active in North India

A new western disturbance is becoming active in North-West India from 29 May, due to which there is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms and dust storms in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan. The weather pattern will change in these areas from 29 May to 2 June.

Delhi-NCR may get relief from heat.

Despite a slight increase in temperature in the National Capital Region, relief is expected. From 29 to 31 May, the sky will remain cloudy in Delhi-NCR and there will be rain with thunder and lightning. Along with this, strong winds can also blow at a speed of 70 km per hour.

Alert in eastern and central India as well:

Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Gangetic West Bengal are likely to receive rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning between May 29 and June 1. Strong winds will also blow in these areas, due to which local people need to be cautious.

The weather will remain active in Northeast India.

The weather will remain active for the next 7 days in northeastern states like Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Nagaland. IMD has forecast thunderstorms and heavy rains in these areas.
