IMD Weather Forecast: Delhi, Maharashtra and many other states have received heavy rains in the last 24 hours. Heavy rains are expected in many parts today as well. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rains in 6 states of the country.
According to IMD, South Bengal, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Gujarat may receive heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours. At the same time, there is a possibility of very heavy rain in Assam and Meghalaya for the next two days, so a red alert has been issued there too. Apart from this, heavy rain may occur at many places in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha today. Also, the rain may continue in Northeast India for the next 5 days.
Rain warning with strong winds in these states
Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh may receive rain today with strong winds at a speed of 50 to 70 kmph. There is a possibility of rain in these states on Thursday as well.
There will be heavy rain till June 22
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be rain with strong winds in Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada between June 18 and 20. There are also chances of good rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Karnataka on June 18 and 19. Heavy rain may occur in Punjab, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh between June 20 and 22. At the same time, rain is expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh on June 19 and 20.
Alert in many districts of Himachal
An orange alert has been issued for heavy rains in Mandi and Shimla districts of Himachal. There is a yellow alert in Bilaspur, Solan and Sirmaur, while there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in the remaining districts as well.
There is a possibility of heavy rain in Delhi too
It rained in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday night. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Wednesday. Today, it may rain with wind at a speed of 50–60 km/h. At the same time, the maximum temperature is expected to be 34°C and the minimum 27°C.
