IMD issues high alert, Very heavy rain, possibility of storm for next 4 days

Heavy Rain Alert: According to the Meteorological Department (India Meteorological Department), very heavy rains are expected in many states of the country for the next 4 days. According to IMD, heavy to very heavy rains are likely to continue over the western coast of Kerala, Karnataka, coastal Maharashtra and Goa.

Heavy rain is expected in many parts of the country for the next 4 days. According to IMD, a low pressure area is formed over the northwestern part of the Bay of Bengal, which may become a low pressure area in the coming time.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is likely in the northeastern states and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till May 30. Heavy rains are also expected in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on May 29, and in Arunachal Pradesh on May 30.

Apart from this, heavy to very heavy rains are likely to continue over Kerala, Karnataka, coastal Maharashtra and Goa during the next 3 to 4 days.

At the same time, due to a new western disturbance, a new round of strong winds with thunder and lightning is likely to start in North-West India from May 29.

Light to moderate rains with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kmph are likely over Kerala and Mahe, Karnataka till June 1.

According to the IMD, there is a possibility of scattered to fairly widespread rain with thunderstorms in Konkan and Goa till June 2. Heavy to very heavy rains are also expected at some places.

Extremely heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 7 days and extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya on 29th and 30th May.

Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds with speed of 40-50 kmph are likely over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar during May 29 to June 1.

There may be sporadic to scattered rains in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan during May 29 to June 2. Strong winds at the speed of 50-60 kmph are likely to blow in Rajasthan till June 30.

There may be rain in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad on 29-31 May, Punjab on 29 and 30 May, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on 30 May.
